have you guys heard of the term... "mere exposure phenomenon" that means: people tend to like things that are more familiar to them, even if they were not that keen on them initially...

im not exposed to the "mere exposure phenomenon".. with music cause i don't listen to the radio... so when i hear crap.. i do NOT tolerate it...

Can't Be Good is a great choice..for a second single. The obvious first single choice was LUV..one of Janet's best songs in recent memory.

Luv can still be a single. They only sent it to Urban, not Rhythmic or Top 40. If they did a great video for the summer and sent it to Top 40 and Rhythmic, and it did well, they could easily send it back to Urban and have a multi-format smash.

I dont understand Def Jam's promotion. New videos should have been out by now. There are many good tracks on this album. I luv Janet but I think she has become complacent. Discipline is my song of the moment although i doubt a video for this could be aired on public tv. Songs like LUV, 2nite, So Much betta should have had videos done, and she needs to reunite with Shawnette and Tina Landon.

I still love the album too and wish more was done with it. I know people who haven't been into janet for years that are feeling the album

Can't Be Good and What's Your Name definitely made me think of Off the Wall era mj too.

This album could have really been tightened up a little bit by axing something of the repeat-sounding ballads.

Discipline got jacked for ballads, those shits are WEAK...

I think the discipline ballads are strong and melodic. I'm not feeling Curtains though, and I wish she sang a little more on them though she sounds okay.

I hope she releases LUV again or something. I hope this isn't it until the tour.

so how well did "Feedback" do as a single? Did it reach the Top 10? It seems like there was alot of hype for it at first and then it just fizzled out.

I like "Never Letchu Go" as far as ballads, but the album is sort of loaded with them for an album that was supposed to be a return to dance. It's a good album, it has singles, but I think they already blew their load on the upbeat pop songs as singles, right? Is there anything left?

i think the problem is.. people just don't want to let themselves like janet as an artist... she literally has been the same same since the "janet" album.. her style is always the same... i don't understand why people who claim they are rel fans.. don't like her music anymore...
