I went on a vinyl dig on my lunch hour........ A friend told me that they saw a record section at a place that I was unaware of. It was fairly close so I went on my lunch hour. It is The Gateway Mission Store so I'm assuming that the money made goes to the local homeless mission of the same name.
Anyway, all albums were 50 cents. Unfortunately, damn near all the albums were classical music. All 45s were 25 cents so I did find a few to buy. Some of them look to be in pretty bad condition but you never know, you can't always judge a book by it's cover. Also, at a quarter a piece, it's not like I'm going to be out of some big money if they are scratched. And what the hell, the money goes to a good cause. Some of the 45s I bought will really trip you out. Don't y'all take away my funk card, ya hear. You Don’t Have To Be A Star – Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis, Jr. I Love The Nightlife – Alicia Bridges Footloose – Kenny Loggins Angel In Your Arms – Hot Hot Line – The Sylvers Disco Duck – Rick Dees Everybody Plays The Fool – The Main Ingredient Axel F – Harold Faltermeyer Rock You Like A Hurricane – Scorpions Blinded By The Light – Manfred Mann’s Earth Band Crystal Blue Persuasion – Tommy James and The Shondells Up Where We Belong – Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes Eye of the Tiger – Survivor The Devil Went Down To Georgia – The Charlie Daniels Band Elvira – The Oak Ridge Boys Bobbie Sue – The Oak Ridge Boys Feel Like Makin’ Love – Bad Company How Much I Feel – Ambrosia . . . [Edited 4/25/08 13:22pm] Honey, there ain't a cause in the world good enough to make me buy a record by little miss goodie two shoes. If that's the only option I had, I would just donate a quarter and tell them to give the record to some soccer mom that might enjoy it. Andy is a four letter word.

Angel In Your Arms – Hot - i'm trying to think if i've heard this before... Because the angel in your arms this morning Is gonna be the devil in someone else's arms tonight Several people have recorded this song ranging from Barbara Mandrell to Millie Jackson. Hot's version is the one I like. SoulAlive hipped me to the name of the group. How Will I Know - Whitney Houston - oh no you di'int.
Hell hasn't frozen over has it? You are right. I didn't. Disco Duck – Rick Dees - i'm real close to telling you to give up the funk card on the account that you bought this, man.
I haven't heard this one since the 1970s when I was a child. I remember halfway liking it back then. Of course, I was a child though. I bought it mainly for shock value to trip folks out when they are visiting. The music will be jamming and all of a sudden, this song comes on. I like to do shit like that. I have a whole CD full of TV theme songs too for that purpose. . . . [Edited 4/25/08 13:48pm] Andy is a four letter word.

That Tommy James and the Shondells jam is the one.
When acid started influencing the various bands back in the day I think that this was one of the most striking changes- from Mony Mony and Hanky Panky to Crimson and Clover and Crystal Blue Peruasion almost overnight; no question, these guys underwent some kind of deep conversion.
