Was the "Greatest Female Guitarists" list ever posted here?

I honestly don't remember, so...

From www.venuszine.com

Rolling Stone’s 2003 special issue about the “The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time” is an ambitious edition with Jimi Hendrix on the cover and accolades to the great players of our time. But the project is sorely lacking in female presence — there are only two women on the list: Joni Mitchell and Joan Jett.

To shine light on the great female guitarists of our time, we have selected 46 of the best based on an array of excellence factors, including either technical skill, standout performance, and style pioneering. To diversify the selection process, we invited guitar experts and music leaders from various genre backgrounds (read their bios below) to nominate their favorites.

Because of the large number of guitarist profiles, we've split up the editorial content into three postings. Click on the headlines below to read about Venus Zine's 46 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.

Jennifer Batten
Christina Billotte
Kat Bjelland
Rory Block
Carrie Brownstein
Elizabeth Cotten
Brody Dalle
Kim Deal
Ani DiFranco
Tanya Donelly
Rosie Flores
Lita Ford
Suzi Gardner

GUITARISTS H–M
Sue Ann Harkey
Polly Jean Harvey
Jessie Mae Hemphill

Chrissie Hynde
Sharon Isbin
Cordell Jackson
Joan Jett
Peggy "Lady Bo" Jones
Carol Kaye

Courtney Love
Lydia Lunch
Barbara Lynn
Christina Marrs
Satomi Matsumoto
Memphis Minnie

Bonnie Raitt
Toshi Reagon
Michelle Shocked
Donita Sparks

I guess I need to get busy on youtube, because I only recognize about 6 names on this list.

Not like I even like Love, but IIRC, Hole had a lot of good buzz, before she ruined it with her antics. Even their follow-up album, made after she showed her hind quarters, was well received. So I'm guessing she was probably a pretty good female guitarist.

In any event, it goes to show you how hard it is for the music world to identify a whole lot of great female guitarists, even though there've gotta be some out there.

Lita Ford's on there, but I don't see Emily Remler (RIP) who was a great Jazz Guitarist...

I will first check their bio's on www.allmusic.com
So to find out that the only inof on Christina Billotte is that she is or has been member of two bands I never heard of; Autoclave and The Casual Dots.

Which is more interesting to me than Batten's extended bio on there, because I never heard of Bilotte.

Fun, fun, fun

First thing I did was check to see if Courtney Love is on the list.

Once I saw that she is, I realised that this is NOT a list of the "greatest" female guitarists at all, it's just a list of all the female guitarists that the compilers could think of.

Kind of a slap in the face for the ones in the list that DO have an extraordinary talent for the instrument, don't you think?
This is not an exit

I would have said that too, but I don't think that they would consider her since she plays bass.

Cmon lol
When most people talk about "guitarists" they mean people who play GUITAR, as in not BASS GUITAR. Bass guitar players are usually referred to as bassists or bass players.
When you have a list of the 'Greatest Female Guitarists' it kinda implies that you are talking about actual guitarists and NOT bassists.
