M83 Saturdays=Youth I'm loving the new M83 album. Saturdays=Youth.
They've made an album that could be a Soundtrack to 1980's Teen Movie. The Cover even has a Molly Ringwald look a like on it. If you like mid period Cure New Order,Cocteau Twins, Depeche Mode, Psychedelic Furs you might well like this. Highlights include Kim And Jessie, Graveyard Girl (Sounds to me like a cross between The Cure and The Stone Roses) Couleurs (reminds me of a car racing through the street in Miami Vice) Up (Kate Bush homage The only real low point is Midnight Souls remain which is just two chords reapted for 11 minutes. Glad I got it from Itunes so I could leave this pointless track off what otherwise is a highly enjoyable album. Should keep me going until The New Cut Copy comes out in the UK.

Hey,
Yeah, I'm feeling you on the new M83 album. Supposedly it plays like a concept album in which the protagonist is frozen in his teens. M83 said in an interview with a London party mag that the album is an ode to his youth and the age of 15 when parties and raving were fun and "the last time when everything made sense" for him. It's very aural, especially the lead single "Couleurs." It's very easy to get lost in that song. ... [Edited 4/30/08 12:36pm]

i had a brief fascination with their previous two albums, but after a while they started to sound a little same-y and i ultimately filed it under "gotta be in the right mood for this".
i think it's a beautiful sameyness, though. so when i'm in the mood for it, it REALLY hits the spot. i've been curious about the new album - i've almost picked it up a couple of times. should i give 'em another chance?
