Well stop writing boring ass R&POP songs that you have been writing and maybe the landscape will change. As far as him "experimenting", get real, this cat is producing Hayden Panettiere's debut CD, nice stretch there NE-NO.

Dude writes some good songs, they're just arranged like everything else out there. I bet if you played a lot of them with real instruments and with a band, they might sound quite a bit different.

Either way, kudos to him for trying to move beyond the status quo.

yeah he's saying that to explain why he's gone techno with his new song, which reminds me of what he did with janet's rock with u

maybe he WILL be coming out soon. I saw a tevin campbell video the other day, immediately thought of ne yo and wondered if he will also be outed the way he was.

I know writers take on different roles and he's credited his mom and sister's experiences influencing his writing, but he knows a little too much about how girls feel about guys

I don't know about that. I mean, some of the best songs by women were written by men.

which is why I said writers take on different roles, meaning it has nothing to do with their sexuality, but I think ne yo was too defensive about his if you know what I mean.

I haven't really heard him address the rumors. I know 1 thing for sure. I won't be buying this new cd. He's a good songwriter. He needs better producers.

I just heard Closer and I'm disappointed. If you are going to change your sound, you better go hard with it or go home and he might as well go home cause that was wack. I will give him that it is something different for him and I admire the effort but it sounded to "safe" for me, like it's something any other disposable artist out today could do. The beats sucked and it didn't seem to fit with his voice. I know that Prince is one of his musical heroes, too bad the funk from Prince wasn't anywere to be found on this track. The whole song left me shaking my head. disbelief

exactly, it's boring because he's one of the main culprits

Perhaps Ne-yo is bored because he has used all of the presets on his Roland and Korg synths. The new ones, have the same basic patterns and now he has no inspiration 4 his new material.
