I thought that was a really pretty rendition I wanna be living for the love of you All that I'm giving is for the love of you Lovely as a ray of sun That touches me when the morning comes Feels good to me, my love and me Smoother than a gentle breeze Flowing through my mind with ease

No, I gotta go with "The Greatest Love of All." That's still her signature song in my eyes and I still think it sounds absolutely fabulous. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

I didn't know this was a remake. Interesting. I'd love to hear it, and nobody's taken the time to violate copyright and post it to youtube.

I don`t think anyone said it matter. Indeed. It was only pointed out that it was a cover...and there was an introduction to the previous version, not more, not less.

I totally agree. I love her remake of that song. I really can't decide if I like Whitney's version or the Isley Brother's version better. Both are fab . "And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ

I think I didn't find out that song was a cover until YEARS after...and on top of it I had only heard all the other versions and not Marilyn & Billy's

I totally agree. I love her remake of that song. I really can't decide if I like Whitney's version or the Isley Brother's version better. Both are fab . each version gives me a different feeling and reaction. Whitney's version makes me feel all breezy and want to make pancakes and cuddle with somebody on a Saturday morning. The Isley version requires more sensual behavior on a full moon night, with candles and insence and an x-rated shower interlude, well..., you know... .

The Greatest Love of All Saving All My Love for You All the Man That I Need I Will Always Love You I'm Every Woman I Believe in You and Me Yeah, she's never had a mind of her own and apparantly, she can't come up with too many songs of her own either. Andy is a four letter word.

Yes, it was. This is also the reason why you do not DARE mention Whitney's name in Marilyn's presence. Her version was recorded long before Whitney's and was pulled back from release so that Whitney's could be released first. [Edited 4/20/08 11:30am] I bet I could mention Shitney's name in front of Marilyn and get away with it. Ms. Marilyn would absolutely love me. We would be having a good ole time talking about Shitney. I was telling SoulAlive that I bet he ain't the only one on the planet that prefers George Benson's version because that's the one that I prefer also. I know you didn't think I preferred Shitney's version. The day I prefer anything coming from that little goodie two shoes, you better check outside and see if the sky is falling. To me, she always over does it when she sings another singer's song.
If you listen to the original version to Dolly's, I'll always love you", Dolly sings it the way it was intended. The person is heartbroken because she realizes that she must let her lover go, and Dolly sings it in such a manner. Whitney, while she starts out soft and slow, ends up making the guy leave because the sincerity of the song has been lost. I never felt that Whitney's version was really sincere. I just thought of it as an exercise in vocal acrobatics, which in my opinion ruined the entire meaning of the song. "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"
