yes he has talent, he is a legend, but he is prmarily a musician. Shak & J. are known for their recordings as folks who put their mouths up to the microphone .
The thing about Shakira for me is that I never liked her English recordings. Her pre-fame music in Spanish appeals more to me...Girlfriend might sound like a 55 year old Ranchera but in Spanish but I can dig it   | |

I really love most "latin" music. My favorite is the Tito stuff from the late 50's out of Spanish Harlem but I'm listening to Bebel a lot recently (anything with that bossa nova rhythms).
Tex Mex, Los Lonely Boys are really amazing musicians. Then Los Lobo's huge catalog of music is really impressive as well. | |
