I took Kat to see Mavis Staples on Monday Night in Manchester.It was a treat for her Birthday.

The show was amazing. Kat made a Melody cool t-shirt especially for the occasion and I wore one of my Prince T-Shirts. A way of showing we still support her and her music.

At the end of the show we waited round back as I wanted to see if I could get her Album signed however as she wasn't well she didn't wait round long. Only a couple of guys shouted out and got her to sign vinyls. They looked like professional Autograph hunters. Then she was off on her travels to London.

I was gutted but understood why she wanted to get off.

Unbeknown to me Kat seeing how upset I was, decided to write a letter to Mavis. It explained who we were(front row mad people), that we had waited and that i had wanted her autograph.Kat sent the same letter with SAE to the final 3 theatres on her tour.

Well, We had a reply today and Mavis had wrote a letter on the back of the set list saying how she remembered us as we looked so happy and how it made her happy as well. It was quite a long letter and she signed it off Mavis Staples AKA Melody Cool. Plus Autographed the flyer from the tour.

How great was that?

Mavis if you ever get to read this. Thank you! You have made me even more happy than when I was watching you perform.

Plus I have the greatest fiancee in the world. Thank you for doing this. You truly are the best. I love you Kat XxX
