I never gave a damm about her. Thought she was another pathetic gay diva thing, but she did deliver one of the best albums of this year. It's epic, dark and dramatic. It's almost impossible to categorize the genre (an amalgamation of world music, arabic music, techno, goth, industrial, disco, tango...even new age). eek

She reminds me of Diamanda Galas and Sarah Brightman. Her vocal are quasi-operatic and sometimes remind me of Flamengo singer! WOW

The current single is the 6 minutes plus opus called Europa...the video is simply sublime:

Well...I guess only sexton and pandurito will reply on this thread...

Monica has always been interesting, she is quite the wild one as far as pushing the envelope, where as others here in america tend to let their mouth do the "pushing" she uses her art.

The entire album is very un-pop imo.

The lead single Europa is in the same class of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody. Like u said, I cannot see an american doing this kind of stuff.

No way, as i always have said the most interesting artists are RARELY born in America. The funny thing is that Latin Music, is the widest spanning in diversity and the reason being, i think, is the fact that they still embrace INSTRUMENTS.
