70s rock/pop (disco?) song of the day: "I Was Made For Loving You" by KISS (1979) This is my favorite KISS song.A big hit from the summer of '79.I don't know how their hardcore fans reacted to this song, but it's alot different from their earlier stuff. There's a Giorgio Moroder-influenced sound on this song....very melodic and slightly disco-ish.I like it!

I love KISS. I've started a few topics on them here. I'm sure blackguitaristz will make an appearance soon. I used to love this one as a kid, but I don't listen to it much anymore. I sort of feel the same way about this as I do Phantom of the Park - I should be more embarrassed to like it than I actually am.
And it's disco, for sure. Everyone was going disco then. [Edited 4/17/08 6:29am]

A bit too cheesy for my tastes It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

Great frickin song! They got slammed by a lot of their fanbase for making this record, buti guess you cant please everyone. The tune is disco'd-out, but its still Kiss. The album that it came from (Dynasty) had a couple of other jems on it too. They kinda went from hard rock to heavy pop with this one. A happy face, A Thumpin Bass, For A Lovin' Race. PEACE.

In the late 70s,it's amazing how many rock bands tried a 'disco' sound.

By the time Dynasty came out, even though this was a big hit, KISS was kinda on their way out. They were becoming over exposed with all of the toys and merchadising then for them to do a disco song, It pissed of many KISS fans. Then Peter, their drummer, was fired a few albums after that. Peter barely played on Dynasty anyway. And then Ace, the lead guitarist, quit the next year Peter was fired. And hey Rip, don't be shamed about digging "Phantom Of The Park"> Hell, I LOVE that film. I got it on VHS and dvd! SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

Very disco-ish Kiss cut. I like it. Some fans think they hung the moon then tore it down after this one. I like it in the mix of their early hard rock sound into their hair metal phase. I think my favorite of theirs is "I Like It Loud"...they went back to hard rock after dabbling in disco and the medieval meanders of "The Elder" and went back to good hard rock but then went hair after they took off the makeup.
