Yeah Stevie wrote, produced, and played on that cut

Fragile is better then HIgh Priority, it's got tight dance jams and slow grooves.

Very cool. thanks. I know of a few places in Detroit that have good $1 bins (Memories and Melodies has a almost a room full!). Don't know that I would necessarily find those titles you noted, though. It's funny because in the case of M&M, they have just about everything so if you find something in the shelves under the artist name, and it's pretty popular, take a look in the dollar room. The covers might have some damage but it could be worth it.

i went to Hyde Park in chitown last weekend. disbelief

i've been looking for this one for a while! heart

bought this one thinking it was the other Sonny Boy Williamson. pout Though i'm still curious to hear it.

Never heard it, but couldn't pass it up.

heard a bunch about these guys, but could never find anything on CD by them. Otis Redding's sons or something like that, right? confuse

Bought this one purely for sentimental reasons. boxed

no problem
I will keep that in mind
for if I ever visit Detroit

I don't normally care about
the condition of the album covers
as long as they are not water damaged
$1 a pop will serve me just fine wink

that's exactly how I do at HALF PRICE BOOKS
when I'm visiting Dallas, Texas
most of the stuff you see on the shelves
is below on the bottom shelves for $1
usually when I'm out there
I have time to spare... so I grab a chair
and get ta diggin... I spent like 4 hours
in that joint last time I was there
the time slips away from you eek

The Horny Horns recorded 2 albums - A Blow for Me, A Toot for You (1977) and Say Blow By Blow Backwards (1979). A compilation of unreleased tracks were released in 1994 on the CD "The Final Blow".

Man, you'd think they were into blow or something. lol

Johnny's the man! though he is an acquired taste. if you listen to his early and mid-seventies stuff you'd hear he was somewhat of a copy cat. i did hear some of his best stuff is his earlier releases, which were mostly blues. i have yet to investigate.

2 albums i'd recommend by him are:

Lone Ranger & Listen

This are pretty slick productions. Sounds like stuff players back in the day were listening to and rolling their joints on. lol

the other stuff on my list is pretty much eclectic ear candy for me, i don't know if i'd recommend it to anyone else. lol

though if you're into Bossa Nova some say the Black Orpheous soundtrack were the first shots fired in the genre or at least the first to be exposed to a large audience. Though, if you are interested, watch the movie first. wink

same here cool

and I have all the Parliament
ones also, except these three
Osmium
Live: P-Funk Earth Tour boxed I know, I know
Trombipulation

my first ever P-Funk experience
was when my Uncle George (what a coincidence LOL)
gave me (actually, I begged him for it)
his copy of Gloryhallastoopid (PTTOTF)
on vinyl... inside of it was a copy of
F vs. PS too...

I mean, WHAT AN INTRODUCTION eek
I know that P-Funk fans don't
usually fancy the Gloryhalla... album
but "Colour Me Funky" is one of
my favorite songs by the group
and the title track cool
plus the artwork blew me away
I mean, there I was in the 8th grade
it was possibly 2 decades after
the release of this record
the animation was dated... but
it drew me in.. I've been hooked every since

I don't even have to mention
the brilliance of F vs. PS
