Can any of the American Idol contestants actually sing?

I mean, really hammer Watching their pathetic rendition of One Sweet Day right now.

Some of them can scream (usually off-key), but none of them can SING. There's no real emotion there, even.

Syesha has the voice in my opinion out of all these singers, but if she won, she'd totally be marketed as the next Whitney and I don't think that would sit well with many people.

The little David Archuleta kid has a nice voice, but I want to see what he sounds like after he really hits puberty.

Carly has a nice voice, but she holds back sometimes which kind of gets annoying...Ramiele did the same thing and that's why she's not on the show now and she had a very big voice.

Brooke has the most potential just because she's a singer and songwriter, so her album wouldn't be the typical AI album because I would hope they would allow her to do her own instrumentals and write her own stuff on it.

David Castro, or as I call him "the dreadlock dude", distracts me...I just want to cut his hair and wash it and his song last night made me feel like I was at a karaoke bar without a drink in my hand. sad

David Cook's rendition of "Always Be My Baby" was interesting and I give it to him for picking such a pop song and doing his own thing with it...even though he's not as good as Daughtry or Bo Bice if I had to compare him to previous AI rockers.

All I have to say is that if that Kristy Lee girl ends up in the top 3, I'm going to seriously wonder what's wrong with the people who vote for these contestants. When she butchered that Beatles song, I actually got offended and I'm not even a Beatles fan.

Nothing really mind-blowingly new or really interesting going on this season to my ears, but I just watch AI occasionally so what do I know. lol Now, wait until "So You Think You Can Dance?" premieres in May and my eyes will be glued to the Fox network...seen every single episode since it first came out and it's 100 times more interesting than any AI.

This is, by far, the least talented set of contestants ever on the show. And I thought last season was rock-bottom!

That "One Sweet Day" performance was God-awful.

Truthfully, the only reason I even watched this week was because of MC. I hadn't watched in two weeks and I will not be tuning next week.

They should've done a double elimination 2nite and let both Brooke and Kristy Lee go home.I'd never buy a record from any contestant in this group, and I only watch AI as a last resort-when there'z positively nothing else on.Randy and Simon must b drinking from Paula'z cup,as I refuse 2 believe that of all the auditionz, this group was the best out there. The only hope left 4 this season that would spark my interest would b 2 bring Prince in as a mentor. lol

I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I think there's potential in her voice. She needs to learn (and I noticed this especially after her performance of "Vanishing") to allow some silence. In alost every song she does, there's about 30 to 45 seconds (and it seems like MINUTES) where she's just holding note after note. And she just ends up yelling. It is REALLY unpleasant to me by the time she gets to the third held note.

Also, her corny, fake-ass personality drives me nuts.

The little David Archuleta kid has a nice voice, but I want to see what he sounds like after he really hits puberty.

Considering the tone of his voice, I was actually suprised that he could do the falseto, but he did. And he's hit or miss for me. At this point, he's had more performances that were "misses" for me than "hits" but, boy, when he "hits" he really hits. He gets me all choked up and shit. This wasn't one of those weeks though.

Carly has a nice voice, but she holds back sometimes which kind of gets annoying...Ramiele did the same thing and that's why she's not on the show now and she had a very big voice.

She's great, I think, but too often either holds back too much or overdoes it too much. She's at her best when she's just relaxing and letting it happen.

Brooke has the most potential just because she's a singer and songwriter, so her album wouldn't be the typical AI album because I would hope they would allow her to do her own instrumentals and write her own stuff on it.

I enjoy her pretty much every week. In fact, I think this week she was my second favorite. There's just kind of a naked, heart-felt honesty to most of her performances. And it's at those times that she's the best. When she tries to step out of her box, she doesn't do so well.

David Castro, or as I call him "the dreadlock dude", distracts me...I just want to cut his hair and wash it and his song last night made me feel like I was at a karaoke bar without a drink in my hand. sad

Well at least he did something different with it. He's hit or miss with me. Sometimes I really like him, and other times.... eh. I liked him this week.

David Cook's rendition of "Always Be My Baby" was interesting and I give it to him for picking such a pop song and doing his own thing with it...even though he's not as good as Daughtry or Bo Bice if I had to compare him to previous AI rockers.

You know... the type of singer he is.... I really dislike them, generally. But in the context of this show, I think he's probably the most talented. He could win this thing, and I'd be fine with that. To me, he's gone from being a joke Week 1 to being one of my favorites. This guy has some actual talent.

All I have to say is that if that Kristy Lee girl ends up in the top 3, I'm going to seriously wonder what's wrong with the people who vote for these contestants. When she butchered that Beatles song, I actually got offended and I'm not even a Beatles fan.

Yeah, she really needs to go. But since she's the only country singer in the whole group, that demographic has kept her there this long. Plus, she's really developed attitude the last several times she's been in the bottom 3. It's a defensive thing, but it's really unattractive.
