I liked it because the show is so BORING with these lame cover tunes that it caught me off guard. Plus, I had never heard the version that he performed. I thought it was very ggod.

People forget that Ryan mentioned that it was a cover of Chris Cornell's version yet the judges were raving about it like it was the second coming of the song or something.

I watched and decided to give him another chance, but....really?! He's like a second-rate Nickelback/Creed (and they're terrible to begin with). I think I'm just not Idol's target audience. Nickleback and Creed are terrible?....do you listen to anyone other than Prince....jeeze Dance... Let me see you dance

Anyway, I didn't watch it that much but I checked out snippets of that other dude Michael Johns singing a country song and I have to wonder, "the fans told Michael to go home yet David Castro stays...

Yeah and based on the words, they learned that he was doing Chris' version afterwards so they weren't that bright but he's good overall so no hate.

I'm still trying to figure that out. Just shows that he is not a human juke box that just spits out the same ole thing. Daughtry did it with Live's version of Ring of Fire. Shows he can think out of the box. They never claim to own the version they sang. I don't think they should stop the show and tell the world what/who's version of the song they are singing. Just sing it. ---------------------------------

There's actually not a single Prince track on my ipod right now. But this new sensitive-rocker archetype grates on my nerves. Either rock out Motorhead-style or just put out the call for a Diane Warren ballad already.
