Radio play, billboards, TV coverage, newspaper reports, everything you could possibly want, yet after a strong first week it plummeted hard. It had NOTHING to do with promotion, it had to do with MJ being past it. He was still doing the same old routine, but not as well. No-one liked the video, the song didn't knock anyone's socks off, and Michael looked scary. When they eventually stopped promoting the album it was because they knew it would just be throwing good money after bad.

I guess next year, he'll re-release it, add some unreleased material of himself farting, and call it "Thriller 26".
