Stop hiding and admit it! I'm always saying that people shouldn't be ashamed of themselves and just stand for what the believe in and like.
Yet like many of us I like artists that I can be a bit embarassed of, artists that a "real" music lover isn't supposed to enjoy. But who's to say what's good and what's not? So screw censurship and just say it out loud: I'm digging the Pussycat Dolls!

I think the whole concept is fun, the whole Pussycat Dolls story. Blame Johnny Depp for advertising them. I like the music and Nicole has a good voice. But the songs are not to be taken too seriously, it's all just about girls having fun. And I like it

I was surprised myself. Before they made it big, Johnny saw them, said that's what he's been waiting for and let them perfrom at his Viper Room. And the rest is history.

First of all the Dolls date way back to the early 90's when Robin Antin started it (not Carmen Electra) , it was a vegas show girl lounge act, from that picture only 1 girl was in that original, and that is the 5th woman Carmit (who actually left the group recently and now the group is 5) After that the girls changed around but by the later 90's, Jessica Sutta, Ashley Roberts and Kimberley, (the two blondes and the brunette) were regular members, but with various lead celebrity singers, everyone from Stefani to Aguilera took there turn. It was till later 2002 early 2003 that Robin wanted to make them a singing group, and then Unversal/Interscope bought the idea of doing it, but they wanted a lead singer who could front a group and sing different styles. So they went out and auditioned and on the last day found Nicole Scherzinger from Edens Crush and Days of the New and who also had a few solo singles under her given Hawaiian name Nicole Kea, Nicole signed a one-album deal and then at the last hour Melody Thornton was brought in as the young-blood to the group, the only member under 25, Nicole now being the oldest at 30. So in 2003 they were signed and worked and toured even before tracks were done, just gaining a persona and name, they premiered "Buttons" at a NYC gig back in 2004 and u knew that this group was gonna shake things up.
The single for DONT CHA was one of the biggest worldwide hits of 2005, it took months and months to climb in America and was NOT a hit out the box, like so many singles are now (bought and sold). The album debut in 2005, would go on to sell 2.5 million in states, 6 million worldwide, and spawn 6 singles in america and 9 different worldwide, their singles and album sales together have passed 10 million. Whether you like them or not, they shook up that whole genre, now EVERYONE is focusing on WORLD appeal, Rihanna,Danity Kane,Hilary Duff, beyonce etc.. are all doing world tours and making more euro-sounding tracks. And we cant forget Christina Aguilera who was 100% influenced by the dolls on her Back to Basics album. "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

She has been MIA since she won and now they have another PCD reality show called Girlicious. Girlicious is just an attempt for another label to cash in (geffen records this time). The girl that won the first Dolls show was horrendous, she had alot of personal issues, she wasnt going to be a replacement for Nicole with everyone thought, because really the group would be done if Nicole left, that is why on the new album, all the girls are getting some vocals, including Jessica Sutta who is the "wildcard" in this group that no one really ever gives credit too, she actually had a chart topping dance single on her own this year. PCD (The girl band) has always been 6 members. PCD (The dance troupe/cabaret act) has had over 100+ members that has come & go over the years.
