80's Flashback -Then and Now - Nik Kershaw

...

Nik Kershaw - Radio Musicola

One of the first basslines I tried to play growing up-maybe it shouldn't have been one of the first, lol...not so much the notes, but keeping that rhythm...

Les Rythmes Digitales featuring Nik Kershaw -Sometimes

Nik Kershaw - Easy(featuring Mark King[level 42]-Bass)

Another early bassline....

Nik Kershaw - Cloud Nine

Nik Kershaw - Seventeen Ghosts

I like Nik but never liked that album ("Radio Musicola") much. Preferred his "the riddle" album on the whole, but do love love love "nobody knows" though, which is off "radio musicola".

"the works" is one of my all time fav albums (top 20 anyway). Nik hooking up with my all time fav producer Peter Wolf for a more AOR sounding album seemd like a smart move, yet it bombed unfortunately.

Good song, but "the riddle" and "wouldn't it be good" are his best commercial tunes in my book. Check them out on youtube. Those 2 songs still get played on UK TV, but not sure about how big he was outside the UK.

I really like all the 80s synth stuff that came out of Europe... very progressive element to all of it... except the Stock Aitken and Waterman stuff (which I like also though)
