Keys Talks About Her Conspiracy Theories Keys Talks About Her Conspiracy Theories
NEW YORK — There's another side to Alicia Keys: conspiracy theorist. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter tells Blender magazine: "`Gangsta rap' was a ploy to convince black people to kill each other. `Gangsta rap' didn't exist." Keys, 27, said she's read several Black Panther autobiographies and wears a gold AK-47 pendant around her neck "to symbolize strength, power and killing 'em dead," according to an interview in the magazine's May issue, on newsstands Tuesday. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter tells Blender magazine: '`Gangsta rap' was a ploy to convince black people to kill each other. `Gangsta rap' didn't exist.' (AP Photo/Daniel Ochoa de Olza, File) Another of her theories: That the bicoastal feud between slain rappers Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G. was fueled "by the government and the media, to stop another great black leader from existing." Keys' AK-47 jewelry came as a surprise to her mother, who is quoted as telling Blender: "She wears what? That doesn't sound like Alicia." Keys' publicist, Theola Borden, said Keys was on vacation and unavailable for comment. Though she's known for her romantic tunes, she told Blender that she wants to write more political songs. If black leaders such as the late Black Panther Huey Newton "had the outlets our musicians have today, it'd be global. I have to figure out a way to do it myself," she said. The multiplatinum songstress behind the hits "Fallin'" and "No One" most recently had success with her latest CD, "As I Am," which sold millions.

AK is starting to believe her own hype.....and that's ALWAYS a bad thing for anyone because that usually begins the start of their decline. nWo: bboy87 - Timmy84 - LittleBlueCorvette - MuthaFunka - phunkdaddy - Christopher

[Flame snip - luv4u]toward light-skinned black women. If you disagree with Alicia's views, then fair enough. But mocking her for looking too much like her mother is uncalled for.[/b] [Edited 4/13/08 11:25am]

I'm not convince that is the problem. I believe that Alicia is going through some serious changes. There's inner angry that may have been building for so long that now the music industry is going to be in for a shock in the future. I'll welcome the change if it means Alicia would make some better music with a faster tempo.

An unbelievably ignorant and hate-filled comment. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

She seems to be a humanitarian at heart, so she's traveled and I'm sure she sees things in other countries as well as her own. I said not long ago, after watching her and Ruby Dee together, that somethings been itching Alicia. I'd welcome it too. Studiotraffic-One of the fastest ways to get payed on the net!

C'mon, that's some cracked-out shit right there. She's straight trippin'. nWo: bboy87 - Timmy84 - LittleBlueCorvette - MuthaFunka - phunkdaddy - Christopher

I halfway understand this article
but by all means honey wear what you want for the record, I'd love to see her music take a drastic change towards more politically-driven stuff... I'd LOVE to hear that [Edited 4/13/08 14:36pm] because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

C'mon, that's some cracked-out shit right there. She's straight trippin'. You're right, that is crazy! Biggie was murder because be was in the wrong place at the wrong time. And that place was the west coast of USA that were still moaning about the lost of 2pac. As for 2pac himself, THAT is more of a conspiracy than anything, just not government-generated per se as Alicia is thinking. There has been too many clues that has been pointed out that the man responsible for 2pac's murder was also the same man that was working as a double agent as a LAPD officer & part-time Death Row Records security guard/undercover gang member. But of course, Internal Affairs didn't want to case to continue. Therefore both murders will forever remain a mystery to everyone that used to be fans of both rappers.
