BRRRRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCEEEEEEEE

WOW! The BEST Springsteen show I've seen in 25 years!

The man is unbelievable. Every bit as great as Prince, but in a different way.

He played some absolute gems tonight. "Rosalita"! Woo hoo! "The Promised Land"! YEAH! "The Rising"! Whoopee! "Candy's Room"! Amazing! "Because the Night"! Nils tore up shit on the solo! "She's the One"! This is what it looks like when men play rock 'n roll! "Out in the Street"! Lost my voice on that one!

But the show stopper occurred in the main part of the show. Bruce has gotten into the habit of taking requests, usually via signs that are held up by audience members.

One young boy (who was given a harmonica by Bruce earlier in the show) had a sign. Bruce took it, looked at it, and said, "What's your name, son? Quentin? Well Quentin, I think the song you want to hear is so old, it was written before your grandfather was born!"

Bruce then turned the sign around and it said, "E Street Shuffle Please!"

They blew it up! WOW WOW WOW WOW was it GREAT!

Then Bruce said, "I want to play this song for a friend who would have turned 68 today". He played "Terry's Song"! If you are not a Springsteen aficianado, this will mean nothing to you. But it is akin to Prince playing "Wally".

Here is the setlist. I have to stay up all night tonight but after this show, it will be easy!

1. Cadillac Ranch
2. Radio Nowhere
3. Lonesome Day
4. Atlantic City
5. Magic
6. Because The Night
7. Candy's Room
8. She's The One
9. Out In The Street
10. Livin In The Future
11. The Promised Land
12. Girl's In Their Summer Clothes
13. The E-Street Shuffle ~ a request
14. TERRY'S SONG ~ in honor of Terry's 68th Birthday (Roy&Bruce)(Nils BU-vocals)
15. Devil's Arcade ~ for Patti
16. The Rising
17. Last To Die
18. Long Walk Home
19. Badlands
20. Thunder Road

ENCORE
21. ALWAYS A FRIEND ~ w/Alejandro Escovedo
22. ALL JUST TO GET TO YOU ~ w/Joe Ely
23. Rosalita (Come Out Tonight)
24. Born To Run
25. Tenth Ave Freeze-Out
26. American Land

Well, I got 2nd row seats to Bruce the day of the show on TM. Troy Aikman was seated behind me. lol The show was aight. He's a legend and all but I really need some funk when I go to a show. bored But I'm glad I went. One of the highlights was Jon Bon Jovi coming out to do Glory Days while Little Stevie had a sourpuss cuz he usually sings co-lead on that song. LOL!!! Then during Dancing in the Dark when he pulled Courtney Cox up on stage in the video Bruce brought up a gaggle of 10 years olds that were in the front of the stage. It was really cute. I was disappointed that he didn't do Streets of Philadelphia OR Born in the USA but Bruce is looking good and did the damn thang. thumbs up!

Bruce puts on a great show. Haven't seen him in a few years, but had a great time at the last concert of his I attended.

Sounds like a show I would have loved.

Tell us something more about the meaning of Terry's Song.

I think Terry's song is about his manager who passed??

I think that and Magic are the best songs on the album.

Terry's song gives me chills when I hear it.

Bruce still plays 3 hrs plus, with tons of effort and heart, calls audibles on setlists etc. Some other acts could/should take notes. Even though I don't like all his songs (most I do love), but the rockabilly 50's stuff doesn't do it for me, he is mesmerizing. Even past his prime, he still shows up 90% of the other live touring acts.

I think the Police who I saw at MSG last year are still playing the same exact setlist for 2 yrs plus.
Music is the best...

Terry McGovern was Bruce's best friend. He died last year. Bruce recorded "Terry's Song" in his memory and it was a hidden track on his latest CD, "Magic".

Apparently, last night's performance of "Terry's Song" was the first and probably last time Bruce will ever play that song live.

I was choking up a bit.

I've never been to one of his concerts, but his concerts on TV are some of the best shows I've been to! lol Honestly, they're exciting even on TV.
