Jon B-Why Is He So Disliked Jon B has made some nice R&B tunes over the years, but why is he so disliked? I mean he has a great voice

Jon B was really popular in the 90s, but he simply fell off. He released an album not to long ago....I think about 2004 or 2005 "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

I saw a pic of dude from like a few months back at some festival or party or something and for some reason he's now running around looking like J-sus.

He was a poor man's George Michael though he only appealed to R&B/urban fans.

Because Babyface was already boring enough, and the white Babyface was even more boring?
That's just my guess. I liked a couple of his tunes well enough. I didn't hate them, anyway. "Half of what I say is meaningless; but I say it so that the other half may reach you." - Kahlil Gibran

Hey, don't shit on George like that. Even on his worst day George would never be in the same sentence as Jon B.

Jon can't fuck with George, you're way fucking right about that shit. I'm gonna go with Raze's description that he was a whiter Babyface, better yet a poor white man's Babyface, lol.

I know you're being facetious, but when there isn't anything unique about the artist or his music, why bother coming up with unique ways to describe him? No-you misunderstood me. I was saying that your description of him was very unique. I had never thought about him like that.

I just emailed George. As long as there aren't any parks or public mens' rooms by where you live, he's coming for you. He's like Prince's acts. People messed with him because they loved Face and once they got tired of that whiney crap and Face started making crappy BET shows, Jon was over. If he really had something or was about it...he could have got with any of the little camps that popped up when Face went under or just kept going on his own

I don't dislike him at all. I still love "Someone to Love" and "Pretty Girl." I thought his second album, Cool Relax, was a little overrated back in the day, but it's not bad at all. He has a hits album that is pretty good at collecting his best stuff. [Edited 4/13/08 4:53am] "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis
