70s pop song of the day: "Lonely Boy" by Andrew Gold (1977) This song has always been a guilty pleasure of mine. It's really nostalgic for me.Reminds me of those long hot summer days in the late 70s when I would listen to AM radio stations all day. This song captures that era perfectly. If you've seen the movie 'Boogie Nights',you may remember hearing it in that film. It's played at the part when Amber Waves (Julianne Moore) is looking at Dirk Diggler (Mark Wahlberg) as he jumps into the swimming pool. You can tell that she was really turned on by him,lol.Anyway....here's the song....

Obscure triva for you, Andrew Gold Produced, and played pretty much all instruments on obscure AOR album "one heart" by John Warren from 1990. Also co-writing a few songs to boot.
Thanks Soulalive for making me realize he did do something other then being involved in John Warrens album. Its Richard Marx type AOR (more Tim Feehan then Marx though, if gonna draw straws), and it was only ever released in Japan, but good to see he had something else on his CV, as I thought he musta done something else.

In the late 70s,he released a single called "Thank You For Being A Friend".In the mid-80s,the song was re-recorded by a woman and used as the theme song for the sitcom "The Golden Girls".

I accidently stumbled on a co-writing credit of Gold's on a Jennifer Love Hewitt track. Glad he is still around (or was in the mid 90's)
