Many artists come here so it's not as bad as it used to be, but still . A city that can compare a bit to NY would be Berlin. Also Munich has some interesting concerts sometimes.

By all means, go see the Dan, though. When I saw them here (maybe last late-suumer/ fall?) Donald Fagan was just as intellectually smug as ever, Walter just the opposite, the band was made up of only top-notch KICK-ASS A-List players (Freddie Washington & Keith Carlock!!!), and the ladies singing backing vocals sounded sweeter than hummingbirds...

The concert scene in Hamburg is not that bad. Folks just have to play much smaller venues here, and unless you keep your eyes open really wide looking for which of your favorite acts might pass through, you'll miss them because for some reason advertising for these shows is terrible, almost non-existent (unless it's the Stadpark, Leizehalle, or FABRIK). Most of the shows I go to I usually find out by word of mouth, because I'm not a regular "PRINZ" city magazine reader
