She deserves to have a greatest hits, most of the songs on the list are well known!

What are people on the forum on?

maybe some of us are ON...
Oldschool values...
Back in the days someone like Marvin gaye had like 15 years in the business and a handful of CLASSIC ALBUMS before he had a greatest hits compilation...
Same with Stevie..
Same with Prince..
Same with James Brown...
Hell even Lenny Kravitz didnt have one out until 2000
10 years after his debut and Kelis cant even dream of comparing "In popularity or notoriety to Lenny"
Thats what Im On...

I like the girl personally..I have her Neptunes produced albums and I used to love them..
But,
Come on...
How many people "THAT AREN'T MODERN MUSIC FANS"
Could even hum one of her tunes..or know anything about her personal history..or have seen her perform even on TV..?
She's just a little Under the radar IMO for a Greatest Hits CD.
But God Bless her..I hope she at least makes some money off of it.

I agree maybe it’s too soon for her to have a GH out but what can you do? shrug It’s not her decision and obviously no one has to buy it but if you’re a casual Kelis fan this might be a good deal. Alot of the songs I like by her aren't on there but then I'm not a casual fan.

I have never heard 3/4ths of the songs on the list and even when I don't like someone, I still hear them on the radio.

I like Kelis. She is something new but damn: a greatest hits? Come on.

M had only 4 proper albums, 3 if you exclude I'm Breathless, when she released the IC. probably one of the best greatest hits packages ever.

You counted wrong:

1. Madonna
2. Like a Virgin
3. True Blue
4. Like a Prayer
5. I'm Breathless

But those first Madonna albums were packed with
hitsingles,so she could pull of a greatest hits album
after only 4 albums.

Oh, I'm not disputing that at all. Really, all they had to do was release this as "Kelis: The Singles" and I'd be fine with it. Then again, I know next to nothing about Kelis. The only songs I've heard are "Caught Out There," "I Got Your Money," and "Milkshake." I bought Wanderland for $3 used because I knew it wasn't released here, but I have yet to get around to listening to it.

Wanderland is Kelis' best album. That's why it wasn't released in the U.S. It was too good.

Well if you're into "real" music why don't you stop going into threads of people you don't like and start listening to them?

disbelief her only songs that have gotten her airplay were that 'I hate you....'-song and 'Milkshake'.....and ODB's 'Gimme my money...'-song.....

She couldn't fill a venue that holds 100 people here if it wasn't for NAS, who'd be headlining!

Major difference, Madonna had a lot of bonafide hits after 5 albums
...besides people don't release a ton of singles from one album like they used to
If you will, so will I

You guys forget, the music industry is far different than it was back in the days of Marvin and Stevie, or even when Madonna put out her first greatest hits, nowadays a greatest hits album is used to knock an album off of the number of albums the artist is obligated to make for the label. Many artists who grow frustrated with their label, but still need to give them one more album will just give them a greatest hits to fill the "void" and move on insearch of greener pastures.
Lady Cab Driver is one of the greatest songs ever!
