GEORGE MICHAEL'S PRECIOUS BOX...magnificent! One of my favorite songs from Patience!
In my house there's a circle, where the life comes in From the stars to my home, down through the stone, I could have been so alone, Without my precious box Have I a family? I guess not I've never seen a lot of beauty In my life. Well in your house there are servants, and the lights all dim Such a beautiful home, your agent's on the phone, they never leave you alone The party never stops! You say that's fantasy, I say "So what, I need a little beauty..." So let me in, You know you've kind of got under my skin You know we never see a lot of the action round here My dear You may want to strip again And you look so fine in your Gucci suit And you're making more money than your daddy could have imagined But people can go out of fashion, honey, yeah, any time So take that picture, stop acting so dumb Don't you know that the moment will come I will find someone like you But with something extra, I'm sorry baby I don't know why I don't know why that is The systematic breakdown of my community You know I hate my job, I try to save but God There's just never enough Switch on, the pressure - stops You know the one for me, she's on Fox And she's a little beauty... Give me your life, give me your life, I want it Because lately, it's so freezing out here (This side of the glass, life keeps kicking my ass) In so many ways, but you make it good Made me the kind of happy that my baby never could (This side of the glass...) So take that picture, stop acting so dumb Don't you know that the moment will come I will find someone like you But with something extra, I'm so sorry baby I don't know why I don't know why that is Precious keeps me company Keeps me from being alone Because no-one comes in the morning No-one comes in the evening time I'd sit and wait for the phone to ring I could be waiting my whole damn life So sick of the same old faces In this street, where nobody talks to me And the funny side of the situation is I don't care, I'll always be there When you come down from the sky And make yourself at home In my house Because these days it's the money the money The money, honey, or your life I said don't you know you can't have both Stop acting so dumb The moment will come I will find someone like you Something extra, (always happens baby to me) sorry baby I don't know why (something) Said I don't know why that is You may want to strip again You may want to let me in You may want to sacrifice More than you think is fair or right You may want to think again You may want to watch your friends You may want to change your mind You may wish you could turn back time.

Love this song. It might be the best on the album. And it just came up on my shuffle about an hour ago.

LOVE it. of all the uptempo tracks, it's by far the best. "Half of what I say is meaningless; but I say it so that the other half may reach you." - Kahlil Gibran

It's a great song, but I prefer "Flawless." "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

I always think this is about a lonely, poor guy watching some programme like MTV Cribs ''give me your life, I want it''.....and the tv is all he has to keep him company....He performed it live a couple of times on 25Live tour...but not when I saw him ....his harmonies sound very like bee gees in the part that goes ''down from the skkkkyy''

I always HATED that song so much! i still do... it's one of teh reasons I dislike Patience.
He used to have straight forward, well-structured melodies but this songs... it's too long with no real melody. it also a pretty lousy dance track. I can'st stand it. Flawless is better, especially LIVE it was, well, flawless, but it's not very creative. He used a full song to sing some lines over it. i don't want to be that mean but believe me ... i was SO SO SO dissapointed by Patience and him...

I was also disappointed with Patience on the whole....'amazing' seemed dated when it was released, works much better live though....some tracks are unlistenable : 'cars and trains', 'freeek', 'american angel' and 'please send me someone to love' are some of his weakest songs ever. On 'through' he sounds like a whinging rich celbrity.Even at the interval on recent tour the video to 'john and elvis are dead' was played and one long time fan who has travelled all over europe to see him and I had just met said 'i hate that song !'
I was listening to a forgotten gem of his from Wham!'s first album last night called 'nothing looks the same in the light' and it is better than all the songs above.

"Freek!" is hot! Patience isn't as good as the first 3 albums, but I think it's solid. I was listening to a forgotten gem of his from Wham!'s first album last night called 'nothing looks the same in the light' and it is better than all the songs above.
Perhaps. OTOH, everything on that album save "Nothing Looks the Same in the Light" and "Club Tropicana" accounts for the majority of his sub-par material IMO. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

well, yeah. words can't tell how dissapointed I was with Patience. Because, you gotta know, his first three solo albums... I think they're perfect. EVERY song, every note...
but when I listentn the first tiem to Patience... I HATE the title track. it's soo boring! It has no real melody to me. As if he would improvise something in front of the mic. Amazing was one of the better songs but yeah it was dated. Like all teh dance tracks on Patience were boring, bad or dated. Freeek is awful! J&EAD... would have been better without that Aaaaaah all the time! I only like Amazing, Please Send Me Someone, Round Here... somehow I disliked the whole producion. well, the three nbewest sonsg from 2006... I never could stand "An Easier Affair" it's soo bad! This Is Not Real Love I learned to like. Understand is simpyl boring! I'm really dissapointed with his "latest" music BUT live he is sooo amazinG!!!

i guess people were so disappointed with patience because they
had been waiting for a new album for so long and came to xpect way more than what was eventually released. as an album, i like it. i think it's cohesive and it has nice enough songs on it. nothing spectacular but certainly a good, solid disc of songs that all blend very well. if he'd been releasing an album every 2 years since "faith", i guess his music would be 'rated' very differently but since he only puts on an album or a handfull of songs every once in a blue moon, people tend to over analyse them imo. like with prince, you get planet earth and it's just crap but at least you know that you'll have 2 or 3 strong songs on there to tie you over until the next album is released within something like 12 months. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

the one thing i did find very disturbing was the fact that
he included both "freeek" and "shoot the dog" on the album since they had been released so long before. he should have kept them off. they would have been great, fleshing out some future hits or singles collection but an artist of gm's magnitude could have come up with two more good solid cuts to place on his new album. it made the whole thing feel like he was scraping together every last idea or left over he had to compile the album. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

in my own 'beating a dead horse with a stick'/'beating around the bush' sort of way, that's what i tried to say too, although it took me about 50 lines to say it and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

That's practically the best song on there! But overall, I'm not a big fan of that album. After such a long wait, it doesn't really deliver. Or maybe it's just too long.
