I really liked Erykah's live cd and I've seen her perform live too, but this new cd isn't doing much for me. There are a few decent songs and the vibe is good, but her lyrics are whack and don't interest me in the least.

IMO - she should stick to writing cool, funky songs instead of trying to convey a serious spiritual message like she does with this new cd.

Having said that, her new cd isn't as bad as some of the newer shit out there now, but she's trippin with her message.

By the way...whomever thinks Erykah was not "Selling" herself as the girl that sung like Billie Holiday over hip hop grooves when she came out with her first single..You obviously were not too in the loop about what what happening at the time in Black Music..Or how she carved a little place for herself amongst all the other black female singers at the time.
