Herbie Hancock - Head Hunters

Man, I just got this album yesterday and can't stop listening to it. I was familiar with Watermelon Man and Chameleon, but had never heard the entire album. Man, this album is AMAZING!!!

Some of the funkiest grooves ever laid down on tape.

An excellent album from my childhood and my first memorable intro to Herbie. I used to be afraid of the album cover but loved the music.

Great record.
Those that have only heard the radio-edit version of Chameleon, should get this album to hear "the rest of the story".

Sly is my fav tune on that record.

If you don't already have it...

...Thrust should be next on your list. thumbs up!

If ya wanna check out Herbie doing some fresh versions of Watermellon Man and Chameleon as well as Actual Proof from Thrust you can go here:

http://new.music.yahoo.co...=58780606

If anyone knows who the other players are I'd appreciate knowing. Marcus Miller is on Bass but I don't recognize the drummer, guitarist and sax player.

I'm having trouble loading the video, but here's what should be.
Guitar player is definitely Lionel Loueke. African guy from Benin
Bald guy on tenor looks like Michael Brecker (RIP) He was in a band with Herbie around 2005 with Roy Hargrove.
The drummer is Bill Stewart played with John Scofield and joined in with the Hargrove/Brecker configuration.

sad

Been listening to a lot of 70s Herbie lately again, VSOP especially (well not Lite Me Up and the such, however).
