El DeBarge's In The Storm CD (Still Good) I had worn out my CD of El Debarge's In The Storm years ago. I was so stoked to have recently come across it on Amazon's MP3 service. Been rockin it a few times this month. It still sounds fresh today as it wasn't your standard early 90's R&B CD. I love hearing the early pre-stardom Chante Moore on a couple of cuts.
Anyone else feeling this CD? [ZUNECARD]MikeChristopher[/ZUNECARD]

It's a good album. The second single, "You Know What I Like," is my favorite. El was doing his best to channel Marvin on that album. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

Yeah I can hear that influence. Too bad he didn't stick closer to that theme with his last album. [ZUNECARD]MikeChristopher[/ZUNECARD]

I had this CD back in the day, until an old girlfriend borrowed it and never returned it As I recall, there was a Prince-written jam called "Tip O My Tongue".This album was also the first time I heard Chante Moore...on the sexy duet "You Know What I Like".Throughout the album,it's clear that El is paying tribute to his musical idol Marvin Gaye. This album was produced by Maurice White who does a superb job here.
