I hate all things from that talentless whore, this song is gonna be a smash. Smart move with the Justin duet. He gets lots of hate on here for whatever reason, but this single is going to improve her demographics across the board.

I do hate the Ughs, Yo's, and Oh's that is timberland, but I guess thats the style.

Once again the bitch is a genius when it comes to marketing.

While I certainly don't think we'll have to take a tag day for "M-Dolla" (lol) if you don't support the record, why not listen to it with an open mind and then bitch about how she's sold out? razz

I've said here in the past that my preference is for her to tackle weightier subjects than bumpin' uglies, but apparently she only started consulting the Org for career advice as of 4:44pm today. razz

Isn't Madonna the defenition of an artist who sold out? when you look up Pop Music there is Madonna. She's not Bjork by any means.

Setting aside my contention that "selling out" is something we would all do given the right offer (unless it entailed doing something we considered immoral), I agree with you that Madge has always been about shifting units (and she'd tell you so herself).

That said, do you really think that Bjork's motivations are any more noble than Madonna's? They're both women who sought fame and validation through the popular song; they just had different strategies for achieving that. And, coincidentally, didn't Bjork also work with Timbaland?

they are different sides of the same coin. it bothers me to see fans go on about how Madonna is selling out musically when she's a pop artist when comes to music. if somehow her role as visual aritist changed and she started having Pepsi or something pop up in random photoshoots or she started dancing next to a Landrover or something on tour than i'd say she was a sell out.

nod Let Madonna do what she wanna do. She's almost been in it for 30 years so it's too late to wish her gone or wonder WHY she's doing this. lol

I did not care for leaked song I had heard weeks previous but I like the version heard in the video, which apparently is the album version.

I am interested in this album more as a Neptunes fan than a Madonna fan.

Which leaked version did you hear? The one I heard sounded exactly like the video, just without that little dance break in the middle?

The song's grown on me a bit, I mostly think it's made for the dance floor, and will get the job done there. The lyrics are totally pointless and uninteresting, however.

While I think Justin Timberlake's a douche, I don't understand all the hate for this track. I am particularly feelin' the "If you want it..." hook. The song has grown on me a little bit, maybe because I've heard it out and about in public places, and the video brings it up a few levels. I still can't say I like it much.

But "Like It Or Not" is my least favorite on the last one, so.... different strokes, I guess smile

I'm not in love with the track, but I think it's a good first single. It's extremely commercial and will easily appeal to people outside of Madonna's fanbase. It'll give her the hit she needs.Already,it's getting more airplay and attention than any of the singles from her last two albums. It's doing what a first single is supposed to do.

My favorite part of the song is the little singalong hook right after the chorus...keep it up...keep it up....Ma...donnnnna lol that's cool

I agree.

I like this Timbaland track but, not as much as I like "Promiscuous".

I do feel that it was sort of a copy-cat of the Shakira/Wyclef tune with the horns and calling out her name in the middle of the song.

The phrase "selling out" is funny to me.What exactly is "selling out"? Most pop artists want to be successful, sell records and reach the widest audience possible. Is that "selling out"? Yes,there is a small percentage of independent-type artists who don't care about those things, but when we're talking about pop music,it's safe to say that most of these people sell out on a regular basis.Even Prince has sold out many times in his career.

A very astute observation. But didn't "Hung Up" get a ton of play and attention? confuse

Not here in America.US radio stations don't really support Euro-flavored dance music. It went Top 10,but just barely. The new single "4 Minutes" is already Number Three in America, after only two weeks. It's even getting played on American radio stations that didn't play anything from Confessions."4 Minutes" is now officially Madonna's most successful American single since "Music" in 2000.

Exactly. It's a triumph of cynicism. Timberlake and Timberland basically handed her a hit on a platter. She really had to do nothing. Didn't even have to write a good song.

And right there you have a microcosm of how hype works. Videos and hype can get you actually enjoying mediocre music. MJ demonstrated this many times. People wouldn't like his songs at first, then they'd see the videos and hear it being blasted everywhere, and before you know it, they're singing along. Video killed the radio star.

Maybe "devastated" is a little too much. I'm certainly disappointed, and I fully expect Hard Candy to be her worst album.

That "worst album" will most likely outsell Confessions On The Dance Floor, Music, & Ray Of Light.

Hard Candy can't be that bad of a album.

Does anyone know if 4 Minutes is played on Clear Channel-owned urban radio stations yet?

The sounds of this track is synthesize black music to the core.
