[Edited 4/12/08 6:08am] Well, I didn't actually listen as it shuffled, but from what I remember the emphasis is on "remix" rather than "extended" if you know what I mean. I don't remember it being a longer version of the original, anyway "Half of what I say is meaningless; but I say it so that the other half may reach you." - Kahlil Gibran

I hope that you're not separated from Mr. Marley or any other CDs for too long. I'll mentally beam over my Marley collection, which my digitized format instantly tells me is at 14 albums and 157 songs. And your storage story serves as an extra reminder not to take any of it for granted.

I just ripped The Roxy. I love that concert; the audience is great, but that band, dayum. They're so good. Bob's voice. That bass. Them melodies. The atmosphere. Magic performance. If I could go back in time and see artists live; this concert, a Sam Cooke concert, an electric Miles Davis concert, any Joy Division concert where Ian Curtis did not fall over.

So you did find Marley live at the Roxy? It's good to have these backup options? I don't have that one yet (I have "Live" and "Babylon by Bus"), but you have me quite interested. The cool thing about these recordings and a good pair of headphones is that we can join Sam in Harlem, Marley in Hollywood, or Joy Division with an always upright Ian, just as if we had the best location in the house. Sure, you're right, it doesn't replace the real thing. But it's a damn good substitute.

Actually, it hasn't been out 'officially' for a long time, back in the day this was 'bootleg' only and to Marley fans what Het Paard Van Troje is to us; a magic performance where everything is right and comes together in a magnificent way. And yes, I have DVD back ups of the external. I would just FLIP if the thing crashed. Then again, next month I gotta get a new external, this one is filling up rapidly. I need a terabyte.

You have a real backup! I was just kidding you about downloading it for free since you already have it in physical storage. Anyway, I've just purchased and I'm listening to "Live at the Roxy: The Complete Concert". Make that 15 albums and 170 songs. Thanks! This is why I like this place, as it can help me hone my collection.

This is why I like this place, as it can help me hone my collection. I know! I love to discover artists that light other people's fires! And to be reminded of people I should have or remember from back in the day. And yeah, I need the back up; I once lost most of it and it is just a bother to download or rip again. I am almost meticulous when it comes to tagging, so that has got a lot of labor in it too.
