Yea, some kids got up on stage, but James kept cool; wonderful stuff.
I will never understand why irrational violence comes from pain. Until we progress, it will remain with us, until we solve many foolish economic and social ills. All you others say Hell Yea!! | |

Of course there were a lot of more factors that led into why Boston didn't get a riot that night but James Brown having the concert aired on TV definitely had a lot to do with it. Even if he was scared himself - he tried to back off from doing the show and then when he heard that the show would go on live, he demanded $60K, money he stood to lose if he thought no one was showing up. They did and James was able to deliver a show and keep the peace. That was the magic of James Brown. Ironically, after that concert, he was seen as a social commentator of some sort. | |
