Dont get it twisted Well, to your point about him abandoning the black artist for the dollar bill...Let me asked you this, who is in the music business for the just the love of it? NO ONE! and if anyone says that they are, they are lying. The man has got to eat. Also, I think hip hop and R&B music has been dead for some time, long before Timberland came on the scene. I find some of these collaborations interesting. I agree with U in a general sense. There are a handful of people that don't have 2 worry about eating that are in the biz 4 reasons other than money.

I think Nelly Furtado has depth... maybe that's why Loose was my favorite of Timbaland's more recent works. I’m aware that there are several types of producers: the ones that are primarily engineers and tech-heads, the musician/arranger (Quincy), the ego-centered business/ hype man (Diddy and the like.) the one-man band (Prince), the Merlin the magician (guy who doesn’t do jack, but the song meets his approval, thus it’s a hit) and the dude with a beat machine and keyboard (most hip-hop producers and Timbaland.) MHO is that, although Tim has been great at what he does, it’s foolish of him to tell himself that he’s expanding. No, you’re not, dude. To expand is to try a different formula, acquired by different skill sets, and by working with artists of a different caliber. What would happen if he takes a live band and Patti LaBelle, Anita Baker, or Maxwell into the studio? What would happen if he was approached to write/ find and produce a soundtrack? How would it fare against classic soundtracks that we know and love? He’s hot right now, but who’s knocking down his door to produce the next “We Are The World”-like single to bring awareness to a global crises like AIDS or poverty? I know we are who we are, so I’m not judging Tim. Maybe, for him, it really is a stretch producing JT and Madonna. I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!

Didn't someone else in this thread liken Keri Hilson to Jill Jones? I would guess that Timbaland sees himself as the "one man band" type of producer and not just a beatmaker.

If you lock Timbaland in the studio with instruments...? I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!

[Edited 4/3/08 18:32pm] Are u sure about that? Have u heard that B.S. know as the Thriller 25 remixes? but how much work did Michael put into them i seriously doubt it was much he hasnt exactly promoted it apart from making one speach about it in a video acceptance for an award With Love there is no Death

I think Nelly Furtado has depth... maybe that's why Loose was my favorite of Timbaland's more recent works. I still think Loose is dope. I'll just say it: Loose was everything I wanted out of the last few Janet albums and didn't get. That was a dance pop album for your ass.

If you lock Timbaland in the studio with instruments...? I haven't seen him play drums or a guitar or anything other than a synth. But it's not like he can't play a keyboard or compose. He has been blasted for taking samples but he can write too. Don't forget the riffs he came up with for Aaliyah and Ginuwine.
