It's like this: I'm trying to figure out the best albums of Woody Allen film music to buy. I'm intrigued by one called "Woody Allen Classics", which is a collection of classical music used in his films. But I'm also interested in the old ragtime/jazz/novelty recordings. Is there a collection that does a good job of spanning the older movies with the newer ones? Something that has a good mixed bag? And I'm looking for original recordings here, not re-recordings by Woody and his band.

Great topic!

This is great. I think Woody Allen is currently one of the 10 greatest filmmakers, but to this point I've never done anything more than entertain the idea of tracking down some of the music.

It looks like "Classics" and the last compilation you've listed is the way to go, as this would only overlap for me on the songs performed by Frank Sinatra and Duke Ellington and would cover both the jazz and classical music that adorn most of his movies.

But in looking for that final collection it appears it has been replaced by something similar and slightly longer:

.As Time Goes By - Arthur "Dooley" Wilson (from "Play It Again Sam")
.Keepin' Out Of Mischief Now - Tommy Dorsey & His Orchestra (from "Interiors")
.Stardust - Louis Armstrong & His Orchestra (from "Stardust Memories")
.If Dreams Come True - Chick Webb & His Orchestra
.I'll See You In My Dreams - Django Reinhardt
.You Made Me Love You - Harry James & His Orchestra (from "Hanna And Her Sisters")
.I've Heard That Song Before - Harry James & His Orchestra
.Flight Of The Bumble Bee - Harry James & His Orchestra (from "Radio Days")
.September Song - Harry James & His Orchestra
.Body And Soul - Benny Goodman
.In The Mood - Glenn Miller & His Orchestra
.Begin The Beguine - Artie Shaw & His Orchestra
.Opus One - Tommy Dorsey & His Orchestra
.If You Are But A Dream - Frank Sinatra/Axel Stordahl & His Orchestra
.Goodbye
.I'm Getting Sentimental Over You - Tommy Dorsey & His Orchestra
.American Patrol - Glenn Miller & His Orchestra
.Take The "A" Train - Duke Ellington & His Orchestra
.South American Way - Carmen Miranda
.I'm In The Mood For Love - Erroll Garner (from "Manhattan Murder Mystery")
.Big Noise From Winnetka - Bob Crosby & His Orchestra/The Bobcats
.Toot, Toot, Tootsie (Goo'bye) - Al Jolson (from "Bullets Over Broadway")
.Singin' The Blues (Till My Daddy Comes Home) - Bix Beiderbecke/Frankie Trumbauer & His Orchestra
.Did I Remember (To Tell You I Adore You) - Billie Holiday & Her Orchestra/Bunny Berigan/Artie Shaw
.Cocktails For Two - Carmen Cavallaro
.Rhapsody In Blue - NBC Symphony Orchestra/Benny Goodman
