I Want Your Sex Pt. III Appreciation

What do you guys think of the soulful 'Surface' R&B groove that George Michael laid on pt. III? It was so cool that he had 3 different syles for one single song. However they were all different than eachother...different songs altogether..

I like them all. I was just annoyed that part II was the one that made it to Ladies & Gentlemen: The Best of George Michael.

Yeah, it's a good set of songs but given that the first part was the one that was a hit, the decision to include that miffed me.

Where can I find part III at?

Counting down the days till I see George in San Jose. I've been waiting since 1987!

Oh no wonder, I lost my Faith CD years ago. I'm going straight to itunes to finish up my collection. Thanks!

Hell I only have it on Vinyl and had to buy the Kissing A Fool single to get the full pt. III version (as where the monogamous mix on the single fade in was cut..though pt. II was longer)

There's a mix that combines all 3 parts together

I love George Michael and Faith.. I think the reason why he didn't include "I Want Your Sex" on Ladies & Gentlemen (and on 25 neither!) is, that he disliks the song. As he once said: of all the songs that went to #1 "Sex" was the one that didn't deserve it.

I don't think so, since it's nice. I like all parts as well.

I was a little miffed at first. I later realized that, while I like all 3, Part II ("Brass in Love" right?) is my favorite.

"I Want Your Sex" didn't go #1 in either the US (#2) or the UK (#3). In fact, it was his only solo single besides "Kissing a Fool" to not go #1 on either side of the Atlantic through "Praying for Time."

The same way "Bad Boys" wasn't included on the "If You Were There" Wham! compilation

I'll never understand why Part 1 wasn't on any of the versions of either "Ladies & Gentlemen" or (especially) "Twenty Five." I mean, hell, "Freeeak" is on the latter, so it can't be because of content. rolleyes

Well at the time of Ladies & Gentlemen, it was probably because it's his most sexually overt track and he'd just gotten busted for soliciting in a men's room. But then, that's actually the only reason they put that set out at the time, because his name was back in the headlines lol

So I dunno. It's exclusion from all versions of "Twenty Five" is the bigger mystery to me. Unless he's still on that trip from the early 90's about wanting to be taken seriously instead of as a pop star sex symbol, but "Freeak" is a lot more risque at this point.

I honestly don't know because "I Want Your Sex Pts. 1-3" is one of the greatest songs I ever heard when you put 'em together. It's a funk-soul-jazz song in one fusion unison or something. lol Maybe he'll put it in a MORE commemorative hits set one day. biggrin
