Mariah's Voice?

I've heard a lot of people say recently that her voice is no longer what is once was and she has even been accused of not singing live on recent performances like on SNL. What do you mean? It sounded live to me. Also, what do you mean she no longer has a voice? What's wrong with it?

It seems like it doesn't come as naturally as it used to. She still sounds better than most though.

I would bet $ SNL was NOT live... she may have done some adlibbing to fool y'all, but you might as well be watching Ashlee Simpson in higher heels hammer

Some people say that in Mimi she showed her voice again. But I´m not sure. Sometimes she sounds embarassing. I do like her voice in Fly like a bird...

wow, like some kind of high tech lip synching? it sounded live to me but maybe i'm wrong. i still think she sounds better than most "singers" out there today though. what happened to her twelve octave range? how has she messed up her vocal chords? i don't think she does drugs or anything?? does she smoke?

When Mariah first started she used to have an amazing voice with a huge range. I never really cared for her style of music, but I was always impressed by her voice on a technical level. I have noticed now she seems to be raspy with a very limited range. That is very strange to me because to my knowledge she lives a very healthy lifestyle and doesn't drink excessively, smoke or do drugs. Is it possible she has some kind of medical issue with her vocal cords?

Even if she lip-synched, Mariah still sounded rough. Love her dearly but the truth is the truth.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

She sounds more hoarse these days.

She lips syncs to a live vocal track. She will never perform 100% live again.

"We Belong Together" is always lip synced (the last minute where she belts).

lol I remember when people were bitching about Mariah's high notes back when she first came out. Joking that only dogs could hear her high notes and how ear piercing they were. So she started whispering her songs and people complained about that too, saying how annoying it was. Maybe she is slowly losing her amazing voice or maybe she's trying to find a vocally suitable place between the 5 octave range (?) and the whisper, only she knows for sure. Either way, she's still one of the best vocalists in the biz in my eyes.
