In all honesty, to hell with this cat. He teases his fans every year with news of some fresh music and never delivers. People have moved on and Maxwell is so 1996 that by the time he gets the goods to finally drop - will anybody even give a damn? I won't.

Maybe you won't, but thousands of fans still do my brother.

His Myspace page is extremely active for someone who hasn't released a new album since 2001. There are so many comments added everyday.

Anita Baker, Teena Marie and Taylor Dayne are just a few artists who've taken 10 years between albums. Sade is heading there.

The B-52's just took 16 years!

I don't need a new album every year (Rihanna and Ne-Yo, go the fuck away!) from an artist that I like.

I'm impatient too, but I'm content with the fact that the album is coming along.

I know the crazy Mariah fans were pissed too when her album was bumped from it's original date back in November.

This thread was started for the Maxwell lovers out there, everyone else can kiss my ass. lol

yeah, but those artist don't post sophomoric BS on their websites though...maxwell needs to just go away until the album comes out...i love the dude but his half-tard postings are working my last nerve.

falloff
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I am glad the iTunes version has Gestation:Mythos as the first track. I think its important to the sonic soundscape of the album.. plus many didn't know that track existed within the first part of the song... since most cd players can't backwards the first track

Gestation:Mythos is a 3:14 min track that has backwards talking, and sounds much like the very last track on the album. It really fits the album as an opener..

check it out

I have only seen a few cd players do it.. whenever i would pop it in.. if your cd player will allow you, you can press rewind and it will go in a -.0 number..

go to iTunes and preview what it sounds like.

Man, all these years owning this CD and I never knew it had a hidden track. Nice.
I have a couple of other CDs that implemented this kinda hidden track. Rewind from Track 1 to access.
Embrya is a great album.

^ Why? The dude is trying to communicate with the fans this time around.

I admire him for not announcing release dates anymore, the record industry is so fucked up with delays and stuff.

I like him talkin 2 the fans. He be on myspace everyday about.

Haters get ignored.
People are impatient. So many people have gotten used to artists trying so hard to stay relevant that they release a CD every year that many have forgotten that some artists create more sparingly than others. Its best to appreciate an artist for what they have already released rather than what they are going to release. If he never releases another record, he's still a great vocalist and he proved that on his first record.

nod thumbs up!

Embrya's shining moments are

Gestation:Mythos
Everywanting: to want you to want
Downheep: Hula
Submerge: Till we become the sun
Gravity: Pushing to Pull
Embrya

those five are total soundscapes of lush

I can understand that. At least you're not coming in a thread just to say the artist sucks. I know people get annoyed with false release dates and stuff.

At least Maxwell is around sort of. What happened to D'Angelo?

Aside from appearing on projects with jazz artist Roy Hargrove and his group RH Factor, D'Angelo provided background vocals on "So Far To Go"", a track on Common's 2007 album" Finding Forever".

I still listen to Urban Hang Suite.

When the new album hits, I'll be pleased as punch. Didn't know it was coming!

That is about as logical as I will get when comes to such a prolific artist as D'angleo..

but as i was saying.. his mumbling of backing vocals doesn't fucking count.

^ I agree. Maxwell sang background vocals on a Nas track called "No One Else In The Room" in 2004.

As much as I love Maxwell, I didn't count this as new material.
