Francophone artists

I'd like to explore more French language music. Any and all genres. Anyone out there I may want to check out?

I can't believe you know Alliance Etnique (funky)! they are great.
Rita Mitsuko were unbelievable and innovative too.

Being French (but it does mean I am right razz ), I could recommend a few artists:

Serge Gainsbourg: genius!
Etienne Daho: very nice and sensual voice
Carla Bruni (or should I say Mrs Sarkozy): nice and mellow, a French light version of Norah Jones
Viktor Laslo: a French Sade
Louise Attack: original and merry band
NTM: I am not too keen on French Rap but they were very innovative when they started
Axelle Red: sensual voice
Liane Foly: beautiful and jazzy voice
Julien Clerc: old school but beautiful texts and the guy is still bloody gorgeous (that's just my opinion)

My mind is going blank now, I have lived too long in the UK so I have no clue about the upcoming French artists but I still love the classics such as Gainbourg, Brel, Brassens and Piaf.

Lately, I like Stanislas

and Berry (especially the voice and lyrics)

Despite this, oldies but goodies : Cabrel, Balavoine, Souchon.
