I don't understand negativity on a fan forum, which should be a celebration of the artist. But, I have to say, it exists on all fan forums that I have visited. Why someone with a Mariah avatar would sign up on a Janet forum and then whine about Janet 24/7 is completely beyond me.

I don't understand negativity on ANY forum- unless it's set up for that or it's a thread called "We hate artist X". I find online that it's so easy to be negative and use freedom of speech as an easy way out or that this has become acceptable critique...I love criticism and opinion, but sometimes it's lazy, pointless and, as I said before, it does nothing but baits a fan of something with nothing more than a provocative sentence delivered in a negative way. There are so many artists out there or songs that annoy me, but I'd never actively go into those forums to state my opinion as I know that those people love their work etc- it's pointless. I guess I'm being idealistic, but the online critic has become boring and desperate and everyone now has an opinion on everything.
I understand that people can say whatever they like, where they like, how they like and that threads are open, but I'm just so bored of 'X from X saying that X is shit' just because they can.
Where is the love- not online.

I definitely respect your opinion about negativity.

I do think that baiting is a completely different entity, and has more to do with interaction with other posters than it does with one's own opinions. Fans and non-fans alike can post maliciously with the intent of provoking a reaction. For example, posting something like, "Oh, but you like _____, so your opinion is null and void" is baiting when the individual posting it is a fan.

But simply offering a negative opinion is not baiting, and I don't think it deserves to be attacked at all if there was nothing malicious behind it.

Ultimately, people who like to bait and troll are going to keep posting, and it is best to ignore them.

This is an excerpt from Attitude magazine’s track by track review of "Hard Candy" which is in the April issue of Attitude out on March 31st...

’Attitude Fashion Director Luke Day is not a drag queen but appears as Madonna in this month’s issue of Dazed & Confused. Attitude Associate Editor Matthew Todd is also not a drag queen but spent nearly two hours 1-on-1 with Madonna for our exclusive interview two years ago. Here they review the most hotly anticipated release of the year.

MILES AWAY
L: Absolutely genius. Got to be huge. It’s got the great hand-clapping bit in the middle but it’s not a stomper.
M: Sort of delicate... picks you up and wafts you away on a pillow of windswept tears. (laughter) ’Were always at our best when we’re miles away’.
L: So far away...
M: So far away...
L: Let’s cry now. You would not be able to not clap along to this in a concert. Unexpectedly warming…
M: …which is a very Madonna thing to do. It sounds resigned. It makes you want to have a boyfriend so you can reject him so you can sing this song. (Cackle).

SHE’S NOT ME
L: J’adore this! I’m better than the competition. It’s so drag.
M: Is this the campest thing she’s ever done? ’She’s started dressing like me, talking like me and freakin’ me out. She started reading my books and stealing my looks and lingerie, what’s that about?’.
L: (Laughs) I want to dance to this now.
M: It reminds me of Thief of Hearts.
L: Disco funk. And there’s football whistles.
M: And double hand claps.
L: Any song where she repeats a word three times - like ’she was stealing, stealing, stealing’ gets me.

BEAT GOES ON
L: This is unrecognisable from the leak! It’s one of the highlights. Total 80s disco. Xylophones, full on synths. Sort of thing you’d hear at Horse Meat Disco, an ’everybody get up and dance’ record.
M: Very 80s but not in a modern electro pop way. You think you’re listening to a Shalamar record and then Kanye West comes in.
L: It’s got a Taana Gardner feel to it.
M: It’s the point where she turns on the fun turbo boosters. This is the Candy. It’s too too good...
L: LOVE. IT. Especially Pharrell’s Beep, beeps.
M: It’s gonna be played in every disco in the world for 12 - 200 year olds. Could be an instant classic.

Not sure if this is real or not...

Some information about the Limited Edition :

- The CD will be housed in a candy box that comes with zipper
- A pack of 35 mint flavour candies in transparent wrappers will be packed in the box as well
- It comes with several Handy Candy promotional pin badges
- It also comes with 16 pages of color CD booklet
- Includes additional 2 more 4M remixes
- Comes with a tracklisting sticker on the back of the candy box (just like ROL, Music limited edition)

Looks kinda fan made, but it's a nice idea if it's produced properly.

Sounds super heavy duty in comparison to her other limited edition sets (I only am judging based on AL and COADF, though). Doubt it's real...wait and see.

It's weird because on the homepage if it is number 3 but if you look at the 100, there are 3 different versions (although not really, just 3 listings) and the highest is 8 (maybe they combine all the versions to figure its ranking at 3 or the 100 doesn't update fast). Funny because the one just titled "4 Minutes" (without the "featuring..." in the title) is the lowest but looks like the actual single since it has the single cover.

And fuck Itunes for charging $11.99 for the basic edition of HC...basically for one track!

The beat never changes on the track..it stays the same. Its much better than American life. It just lacks that real catchy chorus. And Justin is all over the track.

I don't think the production on this track is bad at all. The problem is Justin and Madonna just didn't write a good song, and also, Madonna's voice is just not suited to modern R&B tracks. That problem was also apparent on Bedtime Stories, but it's even more noticeable here.

Did this person just question "Bedtime Stories"....Enough! Now it's asburd!

"Bedtime Stories" was not the type of music that this is. While I agree she is out of sorts vocally on this track (it's OK, but probably her weakest "debut" single for a new album), Madonna's vocals on that album smoldering and her vocals have never been stronger on everything from hard edged hip-hop pop ("Human Nature"), atomspheric technoish pop ("Bedtime Stories") and straight up soulful/funky R&B ("Survival", "I'd Rather Be Your Lover"....most of the rest of the album). Madonna's strongest album IMHO and her best vocally.

I don't see why Bedtime Stories is so "important". It's a transitional album. Compared with the masterpieces that are Erotica, American Life...it's pale in comparion...

And I am hardcore M fan as you all know...

Didn't you say before that you were ignoring me? You seem to be having a very hard time keeping your word. lol

As for Bedtime Stories it was on the R&B tracks like "Survival" where the whiteness of Madonna's voice really shone through. In the '80s her voice was a bit more soul influenced, but in the '90s she lost that. Hearing her sing on tracks that could have been made for TLC, the blandness of her voice really shone through. It wasn't a problem on "Human Nature", but on "Survival" it was noticeable because you'd never heard Dallas Austin's tracks not have a soulful voice on them before.

I can't remember all the other tracks since I've only listened to the album about four times. '90s Madonna was a real snooze.
