The Raconteurs - Consolers of the Lonely

Anybody listened to this yet? I'm pretty impressed with it. I liked several songs on their first album, but overall it didn't standout. This has a different sound and is pretty good throughout.

The title track is awesome, the last track, Carolina Drama is something worth listening to again and again. 'You Don't understand me' has some nice piano work at the end and there's some good use of horns in a couple of tracks like 'Many Shades of Black'.

Interesting release strategy too, only announcing the album a week before it came out. I haven't seen a video or much promo in the UK though.

I'm excited to hear this. I am a big WS fan, but I also like that the Raconteurs fill in the gaps of the bare bones Meg & Jack setup. Broken Boy Soldiers was lush and well performed, where the White Stripes are jagged.

Jack is really on a roll. Still, he's produced many great songs, but I have yet to hear a truly great album--start to finish--from him. I think maybe he rushes the process a bit.
