phunkdaddy said: Yes toni baby about time. I mean she was at her best on the first two
albums singing those lush ballads. Even on the secrets album she had the lead off dance single you're making me high which was cool but then she toned it back down on the rest of the album with ballads like i love me some him,how could an angel break my heart, unbreak my heart, etc. which is classic toni. Even the heat album was very good with ballads like just be a man about it and spanish guitar but she lost her damn mind on the more than a woman and libra cd. I wish artists like toni would quit giving in to the pressure of trying to keep current with this bullshit market and do what you do best. I agree, she was at her best on the first two albums....songs like "Another Sad Love Song","Breathe Again","Seven Whole Days","There's No Me Without You","Let It Flow" (from the 'Waiting To Exhale' soundtrack)....that's the Toni Braxton I like to hear! Unfortunately, after the first two albums, her music became generic. She started working with shit hop producers, doing songs that were beneath her.She needs to get back to a genuinely soulful sound.

Cause I mean really, she was supposed to be baby Anita. They built her and she was going strong then she decides to sell out maybe because of the financial issues I don't know. I remember her looking sessy n grown and what not and then all of a sudden she was basically masturbating in videos and Dr. Dre was standing next to her throwing up gang signs. I'm glad she's sane again. Toni, Pretty black girl, you make me want to come through this phone and bite you. Y u gotta lie to me? Just be a man about it that was my song Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.

Good for Toni. I'm glad that she's gotten the revelation that going the Hip-Hop route is not for her. I saw disaster before the More Than A Woman CD came out, even though I liked the Hit The Freeway song. Ballads and straight up R&B is where it's at for her and I agree with everyone who said her first 2 CD's where her best. I hope she has success with the new project. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I thought that her hubby from Mint Condition was going 2 help her material. She has only recorded one song from them and I think it's the best song she has done since she has been married.

What do you guys think? I believe we need it today and I am glad Toni is not trying to fall again into that barrier about wanting to be accepted in the music business. http://www.youtube.com/wa...ktzjwU7uiQ I like Toni. I just didn't like when she tried to go the Janet route and was doing crappy material. I'm glad she seems to be over the phase. Although I don't think she should restrict her material to ballads and love songs, just get more mature up beat material. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
