I've considered this one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever created ever since I was a teenager. Couldn't imagine something like this recorded with today's high-fidelity standards, lacking all the distortion and the gorgeous warmth emanating from the bass. Wayne's playing makes it a bit easy-listening / ethnic -sounding perhaps, but it fits the rumbling percussion and the recording medium perfectly.

I've toyed with idea of recording the song myself for fun, but then again, it would probably make more sense just to make a similar type of composition yourself than try to copy something that so heavily also relies on the performances. Espiecially with my own modest playing skills...
