To a degree, I share you're sentiment. The question is what other producer would have perfect fit with his newer material. It's about him having the right people around musical who he musical gels with.

As a artist, you know the deal. It all boils to work ethics. Some people like having collaborators while others musically like to do it themselves

Something I have notice about most Michael Jackson press leaks when it comes to music it is always about HOW Great he sounds, how amazing his voice is, etc...

But for a good decade and a half he hasnt sang live for the most part? 99% of his tv performances are lip synced! In those lip synced performances if they turn the microphone on for a line or two, he is always out of key.

Hmmmm.. They always seem to "try" to fool the public into his singing ability? It never works, we all know the cant sing, if he could he would! He just had a Thriller 25 "comeback" and what was it. Avoiding The Grammys because they wanted him to perform & a CGI Lizard commercial. rolleyes If he had all this talent he would promote by performing and not trying to milk another made up award. He has used that "promoting trick" for decades.

Teddy Riley had an interview this year or around Christmas on Jamie Foxx's Foxxhole radio show saying he did not get a call from MJ.

Also, I used to say the same thing about Rodney Jerkins messing up Invincible, but he did some nice work for Discipline.

I think it's Teddy's work I didn't like on Invincible actually.

2000 Watts was HHOOOORRID

Break Of Dawn?
Shout was aiight too.

Well the story behind 2000 Watts is, it was originally writtenby Teddy Reily for Tyreese, for his CD with the same name. Michael and Ty were hangin out one day and Mike asked him if he could have it and Tyreese gave it to him. That is why, Tyreese's CD of the same name a few years ago, does not have a title song.

i'm bored ith that... I mean, he works with Riley now for exactly 19 years. His sound was out in 1991, was out in 1995 and was even more out in 2001. So why does he still work with him?
JERKins... his soudn is so dated, and... man, I SO LOVE the early Michael Jackson stuff... Off The Wall..
But listen to those sucking tracks on Invincible like Unbrealable, Heartbreaker and Invincible and Threatend.
For of his worst songs ever, and they all soudn the same! and all have a stupid rap in them.
it's such a shame. when I think of the fact that he again worked with such idiots...

and i don't care what his people say about his music. they always say he is better than ever, the best has yet to come...

why can't je come back to making great pop/r'n'b dance numbers like Rock With You, Off The Wall...

i HATE those Dangerous dance tracks...

i'm sorry im just lamenting but the thing is i still love MJ for what he did in the past but I fear his new album will be a dissapointment. with these people als producers...

If Teddy Riley played out, when why is he still making hits for Snoop Dogg & Kylie Minogue? Maybe it's because he reinvented himself as a producer. cool

there's only one thing I know - he should do live performances. and release this album. the drma is, if it's even just slightly mediocre the press will give him a bad time.
but he can't wait until he's 60. think of it: his last album will be at least SEVEN years old when there MAY be a new album later this year...

Why are people so hard on MJ for not releasing any stuff lately? When was the last time you´ve heard from Sade, Lisa Stansfield etc. Nobody´s whining about that.

i would sell my soul if mike would be able to write bad ass ballads such as stranger in moscow and earthsong. i would consider it a comeback if he could write only 2 songs like that and the rest would be will.i.amne yo gaykon filler . i would be pleased

Lisa released an album in 2006.

No one complains about artists like Sade or Annie Lennox because you don't hear hype for years on end that they're "working on new stuff".

Which is exactly why I like them. When they’re gone, they stay gone. I think their fans make quite a stink about their absence and definitely want new material but we don’t hear constant whispers of them in the studio releasing an album year after year. They’re gone, and when they’re ready they drop an album which is usually worth the wait.
Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

Michael Jackson's biggest musical character flaw is that he's a slave to popularity. Instead of using the greatest producers he can, he gets the most popular ones and then has a team re-work the songs. Its better to build something right from the ground up than to fix it once its been built.

Michael's biggest flaw is that he is always trying to create another Thriller. This is the one thing that has prevented him from coming out with a successful album. If he would just go back and listen to what got him there in the first place, he would be fine. Thriller, was 25 years ago. Get back to basics.

i go there with you... you just have to take a look: since thriller he always puts a "Rock"-song on his album.

Dirty Diana
Give In To Me
D.S.
Privacy

but they became worse each time...

it's just that MJ's missing a thing called artistic integrity. he never tries to express himself at all. Stranger in Moscow was something special. Well, most of the HIStory album was personal but not really. there's still a distance...
I think the older he becomes the more distant he gets...

hmmm You got a point about the Stranger In Moscow cut. It did embody pure emotion in the track that one could fill musically in the instrumentation and vocals. I guess more or less it boils down to Micheal finding the right balance with collaborators musically or just doing it on his own.

this song will turn 15 this year?

does anyone know when he was in Moscow in 1993 (the dates are known so you can date the day he wrote it almost exactly)

hmmm I will have to check the dates. The only thing I know for certain is that it was during one of his World Tours.
