MJ'S NEW TRACKS ARE "pitch-perfect pop songs"

... make of that what you will. Here's a snippet from the article:

With the financial situation on a comparatively stable footing, Jackson has been able to concentrate on recording new songs, many of them executive produced by Will.i.am, Rodney Jerkins and Teddy Riley. According to those who have heard them, the tracks are near pitch-perfect pop songs for a new generation.

And another...

[Simon] Fuller is understood to be hesitant for Jackson to sign up to any public performance that simply re-hashes old hits, instead looking for more novel ways to return to the public arena.

The full article is available here (it's quite long):
http://music.guardian.co....43,00.html

Noticed the number of MJ threads round here was dwindling so just doin' my bit to keep up the average. wink

i'm bored ith that... I mean, he works with Riley now for exactly 19 years. His sound was out in 1991, was out in 1995 and was even more out in 2001. So why does he still work with him?
JERKins... his soudn is so dated, and... man, I SO LOVE the early Michael Jackson stuff... Off The Wall..
But listen to those sucking tracks on Invincible like Unbrealable, Heartbreaker and Invincible and Threatend.
For of his worst songs ever, and they all soudn the same! and all have a stupid rap in them.
it's such a shame. when I think of the fact that he again worked with such idiots...

and i don't care what his people say about his music. they always say he is better than ever, the best has yet to come...

why can't je come back to making great pop/r'n'b dance numbers like Rock With You, Off The Wall...

i HATE those Dangerous dance tracks...

i'm sorry im just lamenting but the thing is i still love MJ for what he did in the past but I fear his new album will be a dissapointment. with these people als producers...

Rodney Jerkins?! mad I like Will, and Teddy's the man, but Rodney Jerkins?! He's the main reason Invincible turned out the way it did mad

He's not working with Riley! Riley said in an interview a while ago that Michael hasn't called him up... he kinda seemed upset about it!

Teddy Riley had an interview this year or around Christmas on Jamie Foxx's Foxxhole radio show saying he did not get a call from MJ.

Also, I used to say the same thing about Rodney Jerkins messing up Invincible, but he did some nice work for Discipline.

I think it's Teddy's work I didn't like on Invincible actually.

Will's stuff on Thriller 25 was actually the most listenable of the bunch lol
Along with his album and Estelle's American Boy, I like the idea of Michael and Will collaborating

i read that jerkins said that michael left of the best songs on purpose because he wanted to break up with sony etc. and recently i saw an interview where he said he was kinda scared to tell mike if something did not sound well.thats pretty much the problem , these youngsters look up to him like he is stil the god he was in 1982. as much as i like dangerous( for michaels cuts + remember the time and in the closet) after bad the albums did not sound like one project.
dangerous had 2 halfs and after that it got worse because the number of producers increased

I believe it when I hear it.

Mike, hurry!

Dangerous has some nice tracks but they don't do it for me. I only can listen to them when I'm in a fan mood whereas his OTW or Thriller stuff I can listen to.all teh time!!
Black Or White... was that produced with Teddy? I thought it was a Bill Bottrell co-work!

BTW, I always thought that Will.I.Am's sound doesn't suit MJ. Will uses these Jazz-kit kind of drums, and they never suited Michael.
He likes tight drums he can dance to.
Anyway, he always talks about his new and upcoming album and i'm disapointed.
And I hate the songs on Janets new album. Rodney Jerkins productions are plain boring!
I've read the article and I think MJ should make concerts before he will release new stuff since we all know this could take years...
well... sad

rolleyes Now you're just making up stuff. I don't know where you were at the time, but TR was still hot in '91. "I Like the Way (The Kissing Game)" was an across-the-board smash. He also had hits with "Now That We Found Love," "Is It Good to You," "Let's Chill," "Wanna Get With U," and "Do Me Right." Things started to cool in '92 (outside of the Dangerous singles), but he still hit big with "Rump Shaker" and "Get Away."

Will's stuff with the BEP's isn't bad. Also, his work on Nas and The Game's last CD's was okay,(the beat on Game's, "Compton") was sick. While Rodney is okay, his sound is ALWAYS the same and if I hear that "darkchild", spoken within every song that he does, I am going to scream.

Remember awhile back,Carlos Santana did an Internet chat and mentioned that he is working with Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones? Is this for Michael's new album? Anybody heard any more info about this project?

I wish we would hear more about it. It's be far the most exciting possible collaboration for Mike's new album.

Where's Ne Yo and Akon? I was looking forward to their work more, they would sound better collaborating with Mike than the three mentioned here. I was hoping the quincy and carlos santana collab was true too.

Rodney Jerkins is a great producer, but he screwed up big time on Invincible. Although I do like the songs, they didn't hit me hard like his work with Brandy and other artists did, and he did work on Discipline that he didn't do on Invincible, so I know he's capable.

will.i.am and teddy need to go though, really. Teddy did well on the past albums, but he's sooo 90's IMO

teddy's dance track on Vince - 2000 Watts - is one of the worst songs by MJ and ever!
The ballad "Don't Walk Away" is nice, though.
