Why does she continue to make "music"? This chick has zero talent. Can't sing, Can't dance, can't act and on top of that she seems like a nasty person based her the episode of "Punk'd" that she was on a few years ago. How is she still around?? Just wondering?

I like Ashanti a lot. She's basically on the same level as her peers, in terms of writing, and I think she has a pleasant voice..it's not the best, but I really like her falsetto. Plus she has a distinct and striking look, and a presence about her.

Although she had a few catchy tunes, Ashanti never had much talent (just a good pair of knee pads and a hot mouth according to Irv Gotti). I suppose she has since dusted off those knee pads for 50 Cent since she is now a member of G Unit. She will not have much of a chance as long as Hurricane Beyonce remains on the scene. It is a shame to say, there is the same unspoken "one hot Black girl at a time" rule in the music industry that also exist in the modeling industry.

I saw a video last night and wondered who the beyonce/j lo look alike was in a video, turned out to be amerie, was really disappointed in this board for that!

I heard an acapella of hers once too and it was pretty impressive. It's like she tones down her voice for singles or for mainstream appeal.

why do rap groups who are losing their popularity or arent making money at the time want to sign a singer to cash in on? and girls fall for this all the time just to get a deal. I think ciara has a look that is saving her. I don't like her dancing much but they do play the bee thing with her and I am seeing it with rhianna and asanti and amerie, etc and with the older vets--mary j, mariah, I Just hope whitney doesn't do it when she come back on the scene. but I like ashanti's songs and her and nelly make a great couple. they are so cute together. It looks real.
