Well it would be a BIG welcome. But its funny because someone like Prince gets knocked for not letting anyone from TODAY in, i constantly hear people say, Prince needs to be "produced", but Prince is a musician first, regardless of what others may think, Musicians can not be produced by "beatmakers" like a timbaland or pharrell etc...mainly because beatmakers are laying their foundations themselves and thats where "musicianship" goes out the window. I would love to see Mariah collaborate with someone on her level, can u imagine a duet with her and George Michael, something "dark" and vocally and lyrically strong. Mariah To Perform At 'The Hills' Premiere Event
"The Hills" kicks off its new season premiere with a glamorous night to remember and who better to do that than the one and only Mariah Carey. Lauren, Whitney and Audrina will join Mariah and MTV VJ Lyndsey Rodrigues along with all their fans at the ultimate premiere event live from Gotham Hall in New York City to watch the anticipated return of "The Hills." Why did Mariah do a performance for of all things, "The Hills"? Is she that desperate to remain a 16 yr old girl or something? I love Mariah but there is something very off about a nearly 40 yr old doing something like this. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. She knows this is the target market that purchases songs on iTunes and will get Touch My Body to #1 on iTunes and thus the Hot 100. Really, for Mariah these days, I think it all comes down to chart placement and sales. | |

She knows this is the target market that purchases songs on iTunes and will get Touch My Body to #1 on iTunes and thus the Hot 100. Really, for Mariah these days, I think it all comes down to chart placement and sales. You're right. She seems to be aiming for breaking the #1 singles record and what better way then that right? I enjoy her music for what it is but I would love to see the music become mature. I want to see her do something different with her style. I will buy E=MC2 but I just want her to grow. I say the same thing for Madonna and Janet. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that | |

Well there's no way I could say that she's focused on breaking records because I think she knows that she has very good chances of that happening as long as she's making music. If there was some urgency to do that, I'd think she'd release a song superior to TMB.

With the iTunes release (on a Monday, no less, so they could get an extra day of sales in there), the massive promotion scheduled, etc, it's obvious that her team is very invested in maximizing her chart placement. Song quality has nothing to do with success, anyway. I don't think she bothered releasing a good track because she knew whatever she released would be a hit by virtue of her recent success. | |
