Problems, one would be, the unecessary guests on tracks, Tpain,Jeezy and Damian Marley are wastes and the JD tracks are the weakest on the album and should not have made the record at all. That being said this album should have been 9-10 tracks and not 14, had it been, it would have been one of her strongest albums yet. On a good note its light years beyond Mimi to me, that record to me, though a HIT was a real miss. This album includes a little more of a raw themed Mariah, though the songs are slick, she is more raw. If i was dropping tracks of this record they would be O.O.C.,"Thanks for nothin", "for the record" and possibly "last kiss" and/or "love story". The strongest cut easily is the last cut "I wish you well" which makes you think has Mariah finally decided to go that route again, it easily is her best since "vanishing" and "If its over", its her and piano and no outside production to ruin it, a side of Mariah that has been absent on any of her records in a real long time. I agree with your review for the most part though the JD tracks especially "Last Kiss" and "Thanx For Nothin" are starting to grow on me alot and "O.C.C" is a guilty pleasure of mines | |

And labels have the nerve to bitch about losing money? That PR stunt had to cost millions, all i know is the city got a fat check from Universal for that shit. When the NY Giants won the superbowl they gave the city (which they dont even play in, they play inNJ) 10 million dollars to light the building in their colors for a week or less. It's such a great song Probably it's because she *kinda* sounds like she did in 1995 on that track. The lower register really works for me too. This, Migrate and That Chick are the only songs from E=MC2 that I have on my Ipod. [Edited 4/13/08 10:30am] I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at the dirt. | |
