Overall though, while I did like a few of the songs on the album, on first listen it appears to be too slow-tempo compared to most of her other albums. It's almost like she phoned in half of the tracks. It's not a total crapfest, but it's not up there with Butterfly or Mimi either.

I've listened to the album a couple of times and I like:

Migrate - yes, very repetitive but i really like that "hey" sound. If you can ignore the guy and lyrics, this is actually a nice club track. But to be honest, she should be pissed at Danja (?) for giving her such a weak track, when he can produce solid pop songs like "Gimme More," "Break the Ice" or "Get Back."

I Stay In Love - i'm not crazy about this track, I like the echo sound in the back ground.

I'm That Chick - The best song on this album. I can't believe they let her sample "Off The Wall."

I'll Be Loving You Long Time - again, solid pop track. Best vocals in a long time.

For The Record - hmmmm, I can't make up my mind.

Touch My Body (Seamus Remix) - funny how her remixes are so much better then the originals. This one is nothing facy, but it avoids being super tacky like the original.

That's about it.

I'm That Chick - Finally something I will actually listen to again. Great production and melody. Inane lyrics, but I can ignore those since the track is good. I wish it wasn't just the same groove for the whole song - makes it a bit samey - but you can't have everything.

Love Story - shut up JD....and the WBT backbeat rears its head again.

Thx 4 Nothin' - I think they sped up Aqualung's Strange and Beautiful for this. Anyways, clearly she forgot to lock JD out the studio....

O.O.C. - As the song started, I noticed that the beat sounds like a plastic spoon hitting oatmeal, but at least there *was* a beat. Unfortunately the song is pretty terrible.

For The Record - snoozefest, but a pleasant one. Yeah, I could wallpaper my apartment to this and not be too perturbed.

Bye Bye - OK until the Irreplaceable drumbeat kicks in and you realize it's Stargate on production. Inspirational lyrics blah blah blah. Meh. I thought they hype said this was supposed to blow me away?

I Wish You Well - this is what I want in a Mariah Carey album. Real instruments! Overlong and the song goes nowhere, though.

If this were on vinyl, you could drop the needle anywhere on a given track and it would sound exactly the same. The tracks go nowhere interesting.

This is a sore disappointment for me after the excellent Mimi. Won't be purchasing it.
