Damn... Listen Without Prejudice is 18 Years Old!

My favorite George Michael album.

I think his writing skills, on this album especially, is just incredible.

I'm listening to it right now, and man... beautiful.

Track List:

Praying For Time
Freedom '90
They Won't Go When I Go
Something To Save
Cowboys And Angels
Waiting For That Day (my personal fave)
Mother's Pride
Heal The Pain
Soul Free
Waiting (Reprise)

Those who feel the love... discuss. CD

yeah, I myself can't believe albums like Like a Prayer and Rhythm Nation are almost 19 years old.

I never heard the rest of this album though I've liked Freedom 90' for a long time...and prefer Wham's Freedom

I bought this album the day it came out when I was just beginning high school.

George Michael was a longtime favorite of mine, but after his record label battles, long absences and lack of material, I kinda forgot about him.

In the past several years, I've reconnected with his work and this album in particular.

The older it gets, the better it becomes. The sound and production is timeless and it's without a doubt his best set of songs.

I usually HATE Stevie Wonder covers, because... well... who could do it better than Stevie?

But... I absolutely loved George's version of this song. nod

nod If he ever runs out of ideas for new music, I'd love to hear him do a Stevie Wonder tribute album.

Listen Without Prejudice is phenomenal. Not a sub-par song in the group.

It's my favorite album, and I have over 300! Each song is simply beautiful. It's his best record and I think much more people should know and own it!
Too sad he never relased vol 2 though some of its songs are known...
My favorite is Waiting For That Day... well it's "heavily" inspired by the Stone's You Can't Always Get What You Want, but it's really nice and Cowboys & Angels one of the last songs he wrote in the 80s and about bisexuality...
In fact I love all of GM's albums expect for Patience which was a bit of a dissapointment for me...
Has anyone attended one of his concerts? I was at one of his 25 Live concerts and it was simply amazing!

Sing it!

I've always regarded GM's writing skills as above par for pop music in general. He has a way with wording and phrasing. Plus... that beautiful voice. nod

It's true.

And yes, Five Stars for "Waiting For That Day" (and it's second part "Waiting" too!). One of the best uses of the funky drummer loop.

One of the best albums of all time. also i feel George can do covers well because he understands the songs he is covering, or lived them or grew up on them. alot of times people do covers because their labels PUSH them too because they feel it would be cool to cover so and so. But George pulls off all his covers 100%

This is one of those albums that, the older it gets, the better it sounds. There are so few albums in life that truly qualify. This is one.
