I don't like how he looks like he's shitting when he's singing Under certain circumstances, urgent circumstances, desperate circumstances, profanity provides a relief denied even to prayer.

Co-sign. Bruce writes some great songs. Regardless of what some say, they can't take that away from him. There are certain songs that I like more than others from different periods in his catalogue.

My favorites would consist of the following: Tunnel of Love, I'm on Fire, Born To Run, Dancing In The Dark,My Hometown, and Human Touch. Also, I like some songs off his recent release. He's an easy guy to underestimate if you just casually hear the more famous tracks, but don't be fooled. Beneath the cheese, Bruce has got more heart than most artists could ever dream of. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

He's in my top 5 of all time favorites.
In many ways there are alot of similarties between him and Prince. His run of albums from 1972-1987 was fantastic. Darkness on The Edge Of Town is my particular Favorite. There are also loads of great songs he's never released. And great songs such as Fire, Becasuse The night and Protection that he gave away. He also released a cracking 4 disc vault selection called tracks. I would say he's almost as proflific as Prince. He's also a great Live performer with shows lasting show times up to 3 or 4 hours. And his album Magic from last year is one of the best this decade.

i've been listening to his music more closely the last 2 years and
i love most of it. i have about 70% of his albums and love most of the tracks on each disc. my fav albums are "darkness on the edge of town" and "nebraska" and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

I own many of his albums (form Born to Run to Tunnel of love, his 75-88 work), but I don't like his earlier stuff and his ENTIRE 90's work (Human touch, Ghost of tom Joad and similar crap); The Rising was a brilliant comeback, and Devils and Dust was almost as good as his folk masterpiece, Nebraska (1982); his country project, We shall overcome, was curious and entertaining but Magic has disappointed me: a random, predictable record, sounds like a bunch of B-sides
By the way, I don't like Springsteen's voice until the mid-80's, when he got a raspier, thicker register; I've seen him live three times, but I don't adore him as his hardcore fans do, and I find some of his lyrics irritating and pretentious...I think he's the best when he talks about the low-class problems and the love/hate relationships between a man and a woman, but I truly don't dig his romantic teen fantasies or all that "I'm a loser" stuff... Also, his lack of postmodernism makes him the most predictable of all the major classic rockers, a pure nostalgia-act...

I liked BTR and BITUSA enough to buy GA tix to an LA show. it was a grueling process and all I reallly liked was "Cover Me" and his cover of "War". Oh yeah, I liked "Fire", but greatly prefer the Pointer Sisters version. test
