We need a thread about The Greatest Voice Of All! I read that Whitney's having vocal lessons & should have a new single out by the end of March (She's been re-recording songs a lot ). Her comeback album is due for November 2008, I read. Plus she plans to do a new interview soon, with either Oprah Winfrey or Diane Sawyer.

Whitney Houston's highly-anticipated comeback album will hit shelves in November, it has been revealed.

Record executive Clive Davis said he has recorded five new tracks with the singer, whose last studio offering was 2003's One Wish: The Holiday Album.

The LP is believed to include collaborations with will.i.am, Ne-Yo, R Kelly and John Legend.

He is quoted as saying: "It's really good. We're looking to release the album in November."

Whitney Houston will release her first album of original material since 2002 later this year, BMG Label Group chairman/CEO Clive Davis said Thursday.

Four songs have been completed for the as-yet-untitled project, and four more will be put to tape later this month, Davis said during Billboard's Music & Money Symposium at New York's St. Regis Hotel.

"We're on track for a holiday release," he said. "We're not going to compromise who she is to fit into today's hip-hop radio market. The public wants Whitney material."

Tracks earmarked for the album have been produced or written by Black Eyed Peas singer will.i.am, producer/songwriter Sean Garrett and R&B singer Akon.

Houston, 44, has been dogged in recent years by drug and health issues -- including rehab stints in 2004 and 2005 -- a legal dispute with her father, John Houston, rumored financial problems and a troubled marriage to fellow singer Bobby Brown that ended in divorce.

Her last album, "Just Whitney," debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 in December 2002, and quickly slipped down the rankings. It was her first release since 1998's "My Love Is Your Love."

With the exception of her cover of I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU & SAVING ALL MY LOVE FOR YOU , Whitney really has no other songs that stand out as classics or definitive hits, many of her songs could have been done by any other female singer and the world would not have known the difference. IMO, Clive Davis stifled her talent by choosing to soften her up and make her more " POP " oriented, YES she can sang her ass off, but she had no soul to her. Aretha, the Queen may have sang many a pop song but she has some soul and gospel to balance her out. Where's Whitney's balance?

I wish Whitney all the best. I hope she's cleaned up her act and is ready to sing again! She has an awesome voice and it would be nice to see her back in the game. We need more real singers because most of them today are average or worse and can barely hold a note.

Yeah, she's an amazing woman. Not only did she drain all the funk out of her ex husband but she made him go country of all things. I'm not surprised though after years of being around someone that calls you "The Kang of R&B".

And just look at the perverted shit she's got her ex-husband into. I saw him on TV the other night trying to piss on Twisted Sister in his sleep. I hope he pissed on Shitney a few times for me when they were together.
