Snoop rocks NYC

Snoop Dogg bought his live act to Gramercy Park last night. It was a blast. After opening doors at 9pm, the crowd was treated to a little 2 much of DJ Kid Capri. Snoop and the Snoopadelics hit the stage a little after Midnight. They wasted no time, launching into Murder was the Case. From there, it was classic Snoop and the Dogg Pound. Too Short joined in for Life of the Party. Snoop was hitting on all cylinders. When the industry crowd stayed seated, Snoop reminded them that this was no soccer game and launched into another classic that got everyone on their feet.

Band was frigging stellar. Snoop bought it all- bass, drums guitar, horns, backup singers, and three keyboards. The band was fronted by Teddy Riley and he was somewhere in the middle as far as the talent level of the band. The guy stage left on midi and percussion was the shizzle. Towards the back, the bass player was laying down the funk effortlessly.

It was clear that Teddy was there to help Snoop with his vocals on Sensual Seduction. That was the one time Snoop lost his swagger. He was determined to produce live, and he came through.

Great show. I didn't think he could outdo his last Apollo show, but he did. We did miss those dancers, though

Not much of a setlist guy, especially on late shows. I do remember
