You might have solved a ten year mystery for me. While a friend
and I were travelling to Singapore in first class, I heard a beautiful accapella song in my headphones. I wrote the artists name down and vowed to pick it up right away when I got home. Well I lost the note which pissed me off.
All I remember was that the name sounded like the universal singers or somthing like that. Now I have to do some research. Thanks
We gonna come on with the come on, gonna get down with the get down!

I have or know a few of the albums up there: Take 6, Manhattan Transfer, The Nylons, NY Voices I love their song, Now or Never.

I don't have any Bobby McFerrin but definitely respect his craft. I remember when he was promoting his last CD, I think it was Beyond Words but not sure...really brilliant.

Good call on Bobby McFerrin.
It's too bad most people only know how to bag on him for Don't Worry Be Happy and aren't aware of anything else he's done.
Actually there are some cool performances on the album that single came from.

I might suggest...

Yeah, he's really quite something and so much more than Don't Worry. His music with Yo Yo Ma stands out to me as well. A beautiful voice and wonderfully creative.

One of the most amazing CDs I own:

Bobby McFerrin and Chick Corea doing Mozart.

Not necessarily 'a capella' per se, but amazing nonetheless...since we are on the subject of Bobby McFerrin....

cool

speaking of acapella, I love Bobby's track, "Yes You" from his "Medicine Music" album! That's definitely goin' on my Acapella compilation!

I also Love "Mere Words" from the "Bang!Zoom!" album...
